how many of you really tasted the effect of the forgiveness of sins, (ie what was Redemption Accomplished at Calvary by the Lord Jesus at Calvary) brought by the blessed Holy Spirit effectually into your life? ?

don't all rush and jump into this. Think carefully - There was 603550 male Israelites came out with Moses, and only two from the first generation (Ie Joshua and Caleb) made it into the Promised Land. Except perhaps for Moses, Aaron and Miriam, the others DIED in unbelief (Ps 95, 105, 106, Heb 3).

Now what makes you think you indeed experience the effectual working of the Holy Spirit in your life, that you are counted as if 5 out of the 603550 rather than the vast majority who is in the Church in the wilderness (Acts 7:38)??

I'm still not sure how some can have something as big as the Holy Ghost move in and not feel it. I recieved the earnest of my eternal life the moment I had called on God for it. I have since come to the realization that if I am not saved, then the Bible is a liar, and seeing as the Bible is the Word of God and God cannot lie... I therefore know that I am saved (1 John 5). I have "felt" the presence of the Holy Spirit and his peace that passeth all understanding... however, I don't base my beliefs on these feelings. My heart is decietful above all things, and desperately wicked. I base my faith on the Word of God (AV 1611)

In Old Testament times people were saved by their works. Today, we are saved by grace through faith. When Jesus finished His work on the cross and was resurrected, he had overcome every obstacle for man. He overcame;
Sin
Death
Hell
Satan
The flesh
The world
None of which we could overcome in our own strength. This is why our victory in Christ is complete and leaves nothing undone. Why does man have difficulty believing this? Because he stumbles at the simplicity in Christ.
