Why would we need to be scared of an all-loving being?

I admire people who voice what they have to say but, what are you afraid of, words Christians die every day in this world for helping those who are in need of love a caring. Jesus said, a true man lays down his life for his enemies. Thats Love as Jesus died for all.

I'm two days into a 40 day cycle of meditation and am VERY new to the process. I have a mantra that I use, and it is relatively simple. I chant along with a recording to keep me on pace. However, I've found that about 10 minutes in, I start flubbing up the words. Even though I've repeated the phrase a hundred times or more at that point, I seem to start having a hard time remembering the words. It's almost like I hit a wall.

Has anyone else ever had difficulty like this? Any tips for pushing through?

why it is not ok for a JW NURSE to give blood to a patient she is in charge of? Makes no sense to me, and is unfair to a busy staff.

If you look at the comments to this news story: http://edition.cnn.com/2007/WORLD/africa/11/30/sudan.bears/?imw=Y&iref=mpstoryemail , you'll see people saying thing like "I am Muslim, I just want to say that these people do not represent me or Islam"

You'll also see people saying things like "See - they're savages! This proves that this is not a religion of peace"

That has to be so frustrating for all of the good people in the world who choose to follow Islam.

What sort of things are these people doing to distance themselves from the people who say that a schoolteacher should die because she let some kids name a teddy bear Mohammed?

Most of us seniors here grew up in the beginnings of the rock n roll era. Music has progressed a lot since then, and there have been some really great new artists in the last few years, but do you find that a lot of the new stuff is redundant, same
sound over and over with not a lot of originality? I don't like the fact that a lot of performers "eat the mike" and you can't understand the words. Even my 17 yr old grandaughter says, "what good are they if you can't understand the words so you can sing along?," so I don't think it is just my aging ears. What new rock songs or artists that you really like? Do you think American Idol is a good thing, are are we getting really good performers or are we getting "manufactured" artists?

So go ahead and drink if you'd like but then answer my question.

In all the articles I've read about this case, it's mentioned that the teacher let her students choose the name for the bear, she didn't name it herself. Are these kids being punished too? Of course I don't think they should (I don't think anyone should), but I'm just curious.

Sorry if this has been asked already, I tried to read through the teddy bear questions first but there's just so many of them!

I'm just curious because you can't celebrate something you don't even believe in. THAT WOULD BE HYPOCRITICAL. So what do you do when us "crazy" believers are celebrating this blessed and joyous day?

He says that athiestists were to blame for many of the greatest injustices in history. What about the wiping out of entire civilizations "in the name of God" (Aztecs, Incas, Mayans, many native american tribes, aboriginal australians, many south pacific island cultures.....and on and on...)? How about the Holocaust and the churches "stance of non involvement"? What about the wars in the across the globe that have been raging for centuries over whose religion is right....Muslims v. Christians, Catholics v. Protestants.....? It seems to me that the pope needs a history lesson before making such narrow-minded comments!

Just curious to see what others think about it!

P.S. I was raised Roman Catholic, went to church every sunday, attended private catholic schools, and am a self taught history nut. This is one of the most ridiculous comments I have heard from the church in recent years.

"VATICAN CITY (Reuters) - Pope Benedict, in an encyclical released on Friday, said atheism was responsible for some of the "greatest forms of cruelty and violations of justice" in history"

The nerve of that man! He is head of the organization that brought us the crusades, the inquisition, and failed to even censure Hitler (a Catholic).

In the second encyclical of his papacy, Benedict urges Christians to put their hope for the future in God and not in technology, wealth or political ideologies.

If so, when will you be tossing your computers out, stop watching tv, stay off the phone, sell your car, etc....

and where does it end?

I appreciate that when visiting a muslim country we have to respect their religion. Why does this country (UK) not have a similar policy. we are a Christian country but we cant wear crosses in case we upset others. We cant display a cross in a registry office. What is going on? We seem to be so politically correct we are losing our identity. By the way i have decided to change my cats name to mohammed (lol)

I know a few people whos patriarchal blessings say that they will LIVE to see the 2nd coming of Christ. How would most LDS interpret this...it is what it is, or could it mean something else? One lady I know is in her 90's and I guy I know is almost in his mid thirties. Both their patriarchal blessings say the same thing. This thought raises a lot of questions in relation to what scripture reveals about events that will occur before the 2nd coming of Christ and things that must be in order before hand. Will this woman live to be 130 years old? or will Christ come before all revelation takes place? I highly doubt? What sayest thou? OR maybe I am in all just reading too much into it aye? Your comments are great appreciated. Thanks.
