So, it looks as if we'll have to make gifts this year, due to financial constraints. I would love to hear your suggestions on what we can give, considering the following limitations:

* We're not very crafty, so we might have to limit ourselves to food gifts.
* We have a diabetic in the family, so high-sugar items aren't a great idea.
* Most of the recipients on our list don't drink, so booze doesn't really work.
* The recipients on our list live in the desert, and bread doesn't keep for longer than a day or two.

Thanks all!

If s/he wants to explain what's going on, that's cool.

Why do people do this? Are they normal people?
A friend discovered someone doing something weird with a dog through his surveillance video, and it freaked him out.

An irishman now living in Wales had a car accident and in the heat of the moment called the other driver, a Welsh woman, an English b*tch.

I realise the word 'b*tch' was offensive but the man was tried and found guilty of racism. That I do not understand because as far as I am aware Irish, English and Welsh are of the same race.

So how is that racism?

True there are many attacks being made in R&S, but do you ever think your defenses get in the way of a possible connection to someone who you have falsely perceived as an attacker? Do you ever check your own baggage to see why you are being triggered and try to find some common ground with others? Or do you assume that everyone that triggers you is out to get you?

The Muslims' deity is Allah, but Muhammad appears to get just as much respect. It is called heresy to name a teddy bear Muhammad, yet there are thousands of Muslim men named Muhammad or some variation thereof. How important is Muhammad to Islam and is it really heresy to name a teddy bear after him?

I saw the persecution commercial on TV, and I wonder if maybe people should stop doing this and just let these people believe as they already do. What do you think?

KHARTOUM, Sudan - Thousands of Sudanese, many armed with clubs and knives, rallied Friday in a central square and demanded the execution of a British teacher convicted of insulting Islam for allowing her students to name a teddy bear "Muhammad."

Do they actually think they can cover it up or make people forget about what is happening in Sudan or what is the deal? I have noticed this before. Why is it that when someone posts a question asking about some radical action by muslims, the question is deleted? If they think their religion is so great, then why don't they let people talk about what they are doing? Your thoughts please before this question gets deleted by some Muslim who doesn't want us talking about their religion.

a Jehova Witness member prided himself for going into ALL counties to prostylize, regardless of it's legallity. While the LDS only go into countries where they have been granted permission from it's leader(s) to go.

Which one is more "Jesus Christ" like? Which one shows it is being lead by Jesus through a prophet? please be lengthy and specific on the pros & cons of each policy of missionary work.

Are those fundamentalists who want to stone a rape victim ANY different from:

-those Christians who starved Muslims to death in Yugoslavian camps, in the 90's?

-those Christians that killed, kidnapped and terrorized each other in Northern Ireland in the 80's and 90's?

-that American Christian President who has bombed whole nations, killing and maiming innocent women and kids, on the grounds that "God talked to me and told me to go to war"??

-those Catholics (including the very Church) that collaborated with the Nazis in the Holocaust?

-those Christians like Tim McVeigh or David Koresh?

-those Christians that bomb abortion clinics and kill abortion doctors?

-those Christians that assault immigrants in France, England and Spain?

-those Christians that until recently (the 60's) used to hang Afro Americans and burn their houses, in front of their kids?

-those child-molesting Catholic priests?

-those Christians that deny gay people their rights, in the very "land of the free"?

Is civilised society measured by how we treat children, the disabled, or infirm, or old .Or is it decided on wether corporal punishment is part of society. the islamic world is seen as medevil because the hang people in public but wasnt this country still hanging people in the 50s ? women have only had a voice in society for over a hundred years. within civilised society we are still raped beaten ,stalked and murdered by various sickos. how can we call ourselves civilised when our children are at risk from pedophiles when they are asleep in there beds, on a list of importance theres children then dogs, quite apart from the fact these poor babies, that suffer abuse in any form, their human potential is not brought into the equasion we have no idea who these abused and murdered children could have grown up to be,what potential they had to offer our society. It seems to me there is a much harsher punishment for stealing goverment money than for abusing and killing a child.

I would think Northern girls because they tend to be less religious, less conservatives.....on the other hand, I heard they are more stuck-up so maybe that makes Southern girls more sluttier.

What do you think?
