indicate that they know what God wants... and admonish anyone who has a differing theory... is anyone REALLY so arrogant as to think that THEY have all the answers DIRECT from God?... why is it so hard for these people to simply have an "opinion"... since there are NO FACTS to support any of it.... I'm not an atheist... but I do know enough to know I don't have all the answers...

You know, the people on the other side of the God debate... Do you think they are subconsciounsly aware that their beliefs are false?

Do you think everyone "deep down" agrees with you?

For instants I have lived in predominate white neighborhood, and I notice that even tho I friendly welcome everyone to my home. I have invite guests and share my good cheers with everyone for 14 years I still have no real white friends but I do have asians friends and Hindus friends and Iranian friends and Mexican friends, and African american friends quite easily that I can make these friends, but white americans no matter how much we can have in common, because I am fair brown skin. Made-be they accept one lunch or made-be one dinner. Never really form a friendship with you. I asked other groups of people and they have found the same experience. Even this society have progressively accepted more brown skin people professionally but not on one one basis. You don't see them in malls with this type of friendships or on TV there is still only white shows with only white friendships. Like Friends, the newer shows too like Samatha Who. Seems it on purpose they don't want brown friends.

I'm a rare find, I don't think there is any wrong/bad
in death or pain, At least not in the long run.

I just like to call god the PRIME MOVER.

The first pull on the first pendulum swing that started it all,
including all galaxies and that would probly go beyond all
human understanding.

I believe in a massive source of some kind above us, &
somehow we are all connected to it / her / him.
Call it Mother Universe if ya like, but I doubt our brains
are truly at the top of the 'spiritual-food-chain'
for lack of better words.
This is why I can't be an Atheist.

I don't really think we can PROVE anything so dont
list websites that think they can.
You may as well say, bla bla bla websites bla bla bla

I am interested in bringing a medical, dental, veterinary humanitarian team to work with the Somali people group in Northeastern Kenya and/or Southern Somalia.

If you have any experience working with this people group or if you are from this people group or have contacts in this area please share.

I'll be participating in a visionary trip on late '08 to assess first hand the needs and start development of a strategy for our team who will be going in May 2009.

Thanks!

To preface my question, I am *not* talking about the 40 and over segment of our population, but instead possibly the 25 - 39 set. That said, I'll continue.

These folks are quick to embrace their cellular phones, podcasts, business productivity applications, blogging and other hip technologies when it suits them.

Yet they look down upon their slightly younger (and sometimes their direct age cohorts) when it comes to the fun side of the internet - instant messaging and social networking.

What's so wrong with it, anyways?

Their main argument is that it's "all so immature". Over and over I hear only that objection, but few others.

Get over it.

These medium can be an excellent tool for productivity, because it seems that's all you care about. It isn't just the realm of teenagers anymore, but a widely accepted form of contact and collaboration.

It can help you get in touch with friends. You had them once, remember? Back in the hazy mists of time, before you stepped into that cubicle.

Seems like we both are beliving in something that can not be explained. You believe the earth was poofed into exsistance without any sort of "creator" or "maker." And we believe that a God, that defies our earthly princibles, and laws, designed us and everything around us. Either way you look at it, we both have to put strong faith in the unknown. Glad we all have something in common finally.

It looks so nice and neat and pretty. Then by day 3+ it looks like it's been used as a punching bag.
My tree will not stay nice for nothing! I guess it's because I have 2 preschoolers and a cat living here...
Looks like I get to take off all the ornaments, fix all the branches again, figure out a way to fix it's lopsided appearance, then redecorate it.
Oh, what fun...

Does it mean doubting God's existence?

I see alot of people on R&S who seem so afraid of questioning their faith that I'm starting to think we have different definitions of that concept.

Back in 2001, I moved from NY to CA. (Long Island to Sacramento). Back in High School, my accent was pretty heavy and I was a walking laugh machine. But since then... My accent as taken on a sorta "valley girl" curve :) "thats like totally to die foah!"
But i'm wondering how many have been through similar situations? Massive relocation and (to you) and abnormal change of environment? Anyone?

If so how do they read it? Do they just do a little at a time from beginning to end and then start over? Or do they read specific verses over and over again? Perhaps some other way?

So the santa clauses (sp?) in Australia are no longer allowed to say the traditional HO HO HO! they now have to say hahaha instead and when i read this the reason was exactly written like this; "...because it may be offensive to women..."

So what are they saying, that men can't be HOes?

I'm very glad that I was informed that my life is incomplete and I long for a god. And only the god of the person who told me this is real, according to them.

Wasn't it nice that they were willing to spare me the effort of actually taking a look at my own feelings by telling me what to feel?

Imagine if my parents used to tell me when I was hungry, rather than listening to me. They'd have been able to save a lot of money by giving me a bowl of gruel per day! Or if they could tell me who I love! Then I would never have had to go on a date!

Years ago when my Grandmothers alzheimers first was apparent she would throw a fit in the grocery store if they wouldn't give her the discount she thought she deserved and she would shove her basket across the front of the store and curse the cashier out.
Also an ex took me to dinner on Christmas eve while quite drunk. We were spending $100 on a meal we could not afford. In fact the children were home waiting on an almost non existent Santa visit. I ordered ice tea as I hoped to be the desinated driver. After his 5th drink or so the waiter brought slipped me a long island iced tea. I'm certain it was out of pity. The ex was getting louder, ruder and more obnoxious.
I was at a buffet with a large party. After one lady had eaten at least 3 plates she called a server over and raised cain loudly about something she found on her plate and refused to pay for her meal.

I think religion can be a terrible thing. Most people just use it to oppress and control others. What are your views of it?

EDIT: I am a Christian but I believe that it’s more about having a personal relationship with God. Heck, Jesus himself was killed by the religious people of his day.
