I'm very glad that I was informed that my life is incomplete and I long for a god. And only the god of the person who told me this is real, according to them.

Wasn't it nice that they were willing to spare me the effort of actually taking a look at my own feelings by telling me what to feel?

Imagine if my parents used to tell me when I was hungry, rather than listening to me. They'd have been able to save a lot of money by giving me a bowl of gruel per day! Or if they could tell me who I love! Then I would never have had to go on a date!

I love having learned here at R&S that I'm living a meaningless life, and that I'm rebelling against God. Oh, and I'd have never guessed that I was just trying not to be held accountable for my actions.

The part that confuses me is why I've freely chosen to burn in hell for all of eternity. I must be some kind of masochist, I guess. I'm surprised I hadn't noticed that tendency before.

Didn't you know? As soon as you become part of the Mainstream you get ESP and become an Empath. God will also gossip by telling you about everyone elses lives (of course, I've yet to see him be right on this). You will become an authority on everyone and everything else... so long as you memorize the Bible and quote it back with some accuracy... though context doesn't mean a thing. You will be able to use Pascal's Wager without any awkward feelings, even when someone throws it back in your face. You will completely understand Paganism, Satanism and Atheism without EVER reading a book on it or talking with people from those religions (and non-religion). Though with Atheism, you will insist that they have Faith in their Non-Belief and that they are, indeed a Religion and not once will you see past the blinders you have sufficiently superglued to the side of your head. You will rattle on and on about how everyone else is really worshipping Satan without realizing that "Satan" means accuser and it places you right in the middle of that category... but you won't care, because you now have Mainstream on your side and so long as you use that label for yourself, the whole Mainstream will stand behind you (it won't be beside you... just in case the people you annoy decide to come after you... they are going to be long gone before you even turn around).

Look close enough to you? ;-)

Reminded me of that Rolling Stones song
from "Some Girls" ... excellent song:

I was driving home early Sunday morning
through Bakersfield
Listening to gospel music on the
colored radio station
And the preacher said,
"You know you always have the Lord by your side"

And I was so pleased to be informed of this
that I ran Twenty red lights in his honor
Thank you Jesus, thank you lord

I had an arrangement to meet a girl, and I was kind of late
And I thought by the time I got there she'd be off
She'd be off with the nearest truck driver she could find
Much to my surprise, there she was sittin in the corner
A little bleary, worse for wear and tear
Was a girl with far away eyes

So if you're down on your luck
And you can't harmonize
Find a girl with far away
And if you're downright disgusted
And life ain't worth a dime
Get a girl with far away eyes

Well the preacher kept right on saying
that all I had to do was send
Ten dollars to the church of the sacred
bleeding heart of Jesus
Located somewhere in Los Angeles, California
And next week they'd say my prayer on the radio
And all my dreams would come true
So I did, the next week, I got a prayer with a girl
Well, you know what kind of eyes she got

So if you're down on your luck
I know you all sympathize
Find a girl with far away eyes
And if you're downright disgusted
And life ain't worth a d***
Get a girl with far away eyes

There is alot of sarcasm there my friend. No one likes to be told what to do, or how they should, that goes without saying. Sometimes people just need to step back and take a look at themselves. I do believe that the person you were talking to had no intentions of offending you, though they certainly seem to have done just that. Only you can say what is right for you, as you are the only one that has to be responsible for your actions. I do, myself, believe in the Lord my God. But like you, I wanted and needed the right and ability to make that choice for myself. I have never and will never attempt to shove my views or beliefs off on another person.. I believe that to each his own. I am sorry that you were so highly offended and hope that you will not allow for one person to close your mind off to all possibilities.

More than that- I love the Fundie Christians telling me what I believe. I have grown up a part of my religion and I know what I believe- But the fundies, who have probably never set foot into one of our church buildings, sure love to tell me what I believe. They are usually way off though.

Maybe you should not go on the date lol ha ha!

Jokes aside Atheists continue to rant and rave and ridicule anyone who believes in God on this site. I am not talking about all atheists but yet a number persist in trying to tell everyone how God does not exist! Such zeal and passion in their anti-faith or unbelief is at times quite touching to me. How I wish these atheists would become Christians with that apostolic zeal of theirs. I mean Christians are told to go and make apostles of all men in the Name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. Yet it would seem that Atheists have a mission to make all men Atheists in the name of Evolution, monkey man, and the big bang lol. ha ha.

I mean if i believed in a pink Elephant then everyone who knew this would either laugh at me or pay me no attention. Yet the God of Abraham continues to attract billions of people to him. If the God of Abraham is like the pink Elephant then surely everyone would ignore him or simply laugh at him.

Yet when all of us present on this answers are dead and gone people will continue to worship the God of Abraham. Well my zealous Atheistic friends I hope Jesus shows you how much he loves you all! God bless and God love you all!

Someone, anyone tells me how to feel or what to think I tell them exactly their "qualifications" of being able to do so. It's cold, calculated and direct. Many turn tail and run. (It's that pesky INTJ Meyers/Briggs personality trait)

Peace.

that was very kind of them. I think you should buy them a christmas present as a token of gratitude. Now you can go to church, and give your soul and money (not in that order though).

that pesky thinking for yourself can be so annoying, it's wonderful that there are those who are willing to think for us

I disagree with anyone who thinks they can know what I feel or tells me how I should really be feeling about anything. My feelings are my own.

Yes I just love when people try to tell me what my feelings and opinions are. They're psychic you know. You can't fool em LOL.
