indicate that they know what God wants... and admonish anyone who has a differing theory... is anyone REALLY so arrogant as to think that THEY have all the answers DIRECT from God?... why is it so hard for these people to simply have an "opinion"... since there are NO FACTS to support any of it.... I'm not an atheist... but I do know enough to know I don't have all the answers...

Yeah, Jake, its arrogant as hell. But people keep doing it. Yep, they know what God thinks and what God wants and *SURPRISE* its exactly what they think and want. People make me sad.

The only answers that are DIRECT from God are those in the Bible, and those are subject to interpretation. There are lots of facts in the Bible. Lots of principles.

The theories I believe in, the principles, the answers, the way I know what God wants, all comes from studying the Bible and listening to people who have studied the Bible for many, many years.

I would suggest, dear one, that when you read the Bible, you ask the Lord to open your eyes and to shine light upon the text so that your understanding may be maximized. The more you do this, the more you will understand what the universe is really all about.

It's not just religious people. Deliver us from the astronomers who claim to know how it all started and where it's all headed. Protect us from the geneticists who manipulate chromosomes willy-nilly with little regard for the consequences.

Scientists are adamant that life is just the result of a unique set of circumstances, springing spontaneously from a cauldron of primordial soup, yet all of our experience to date shows that only Life itself begets life.

Those claiming to have all the answers rarely even know the questions.

Those who are saved by God's grace, saved in Christ Jesus are given spiritual wisdom and knowledge through His word. When a Christian abides by God's word, it's not a matter of opinion as to 'right' and 'wrong' - it's fact. God cannot lie as He is perfect, holy and blameless - without sin, so therefore, when a Christian responds to a question regarding the bible or about God, they are referencing from the bible, which is infallible. When it comes to quoting from God's word, it's not out of arrogance, but God's direction. God doesn't directly speak to us as in 'a little voice' or whatever, but through His word. When I reply to a R & S question regarding the bible, I back up my statement with scripture references. This is NOT done out of arrogance.

So why ask a question if you do not expect an answer? Practically everything is personal opinon, but some folks know how to defer their own opinons to a greater power in faith. Faith then becomes reality. After all, we have to talk to each other.

god told my mom that he doesnt like gay people, so because of that, shes a homophobe and i wish my parents would get a divorce. I also think shes crazy and belongs in a mental institution, because if god talks to her personally, somethings wrong.

So do you think God gives no indication whatsoever of what he wants?
Or do you think he only tells us some of the time?
If he tells us what he wants in certain situations, is it wrong to share that information with others?

You are right...the crazies come out sometimes. They probably really believe that they have all of the answers.
Yes, they probably are that arrogant.

I think you are on the right track. It is good to be humble.

Look pal if someone asks a question it is our duty as Christians to exort him to do the best, most of us are not trying to force others into what we believe, but there are some people asking rude questions that lead to harsh answers.

You say you know enough, then why are you not sharing what you know instead of criticizing others?
