Assuming we survive Christianity, what is your estimate on how long it will be until it is merely studied and not practiced?

Feel free to speculate.

In christianity, you must accept Jesus as your personal lord and savior and let him guide your life in all ways. If you don't, even if you lead a good life, you will spend eternity in hell (lake of fire). Do muslims believe this to be true as well? Do muslims believe in a heaven (paradise with God) or hell (lake of fire)? If so what is your heaven and hell like in comparison to the Christian one? Thank you! **Oh, and please explain your salvation!

If yes, why? Aren't there more important things for him to be concerned about? Why not just show himself and get on with more important orders of business?

And how much they were when you were a kid?

I'm a freelance photographer, and I have an appointment at 2:30 today. It's about noon now.

The people I'm photographing are not paying me- I'm doing it as a favor to them because I got connected to them through a charity organization- they've never had a family portrait done, and they were nominated by a family member for some free gifts and services. I'm working today for them at no cost. Not a problem for me at all.

The problem is MY babysitter just flaked out, I can't get a hold of anyone else, and I can't get a hold of the people I'm photographing. While I know it's not ideal, do I take my kids along for the session and just apologize when I get there? I know it's not professional at all, but I really have no other option than this or just don't show up- and I hate for them to come all this way to meet me for their session and then find out we can't do it.

I was watching the news last night and found out my city ranked # 11 on the most dangerous city in the country list. I've never really worried about anything happening to me, but have always been very cautious. Now, I'm a little paranoid especially with the baby on the way. How safe do you feel in your city and do you know what it ranked?

I can see in the Constitution, that we are not a 'Christian' nation, and not Jewish, Muslim, Hindu, etc. I can't find the part that say's we are atheist, agnostic, deist, etc...

Do atheist wish that we were an atheist nation, and do atheist want laws against religion?

On the Life of Man
Sir Walter Ralegh

What is our life? a play of passion,
Our mirth the musicke of division,
Our mothers wombes the tyring houses be,
When we are drest for this short Comedy,
Heaven the Judicious sharpe spector is, 5
That sits and markes still who doth act amisse,
Our graves that hide us from the searching Sun,
Are like drawne curtaynes when the play is done,
Thus march we playing to our latest rest,
Onely we dye in earnest, that's no Jest.

Just to let you know, this is a holiday that was founded by christians, but is NOT a christian holiday except insofar as it is a day to give thanks to the Almighty for all that we have. There are NO religious ceremonies associated with it other than a prayer at the start of the feast. Turkey is traditional, but the gathering of family and friends is what is important and there are no rules on what should be served.

I understand that there is a lack of archaeological evidence when is comes to events of the Bible(by the way I am not a Christian) but is a lack of Archaeological evidence enough to deem something untrue. There are a lot things we know happened in the past but we have little to no evidence of such as crucification. We know for a fact that tens of thousands of people have been crucified and it was a punishment used for like 800 years by the Romans, yet there is only one piece of of physical evidence of a crucifixation. The reason we know this is because of writings of scribes. One out of 10 thousand leaves evidence isn't is a little ridiculous to ask for 1 peice of evidence for one person.

Way I see it, there's this book. It describes and names a god, and you all have it. Great, that's nice. (name's the god "God", like naming the new '08 truck model "Truck", but whatever)

BUT, you actually believe this God is real and true for what reason(s)? Many of you have had special feelings, or special experiences. Many of you think the Bible is historically accurate, so everything in it must be true. Many of you think the prophesies are being proved true, so that's why the Bible is the word of God.

However, none of these reasons actually imply that the thing you felt, experience, believed was a miracle is can be exclusively attributed to one single being named God. It could have been a different god for each of you. It could have been a natural phenomenon. It could have been in your mind (another natural phenomenon). I'm sure you're thinking "God wouldn't act that way or let that happen", but you really haven't got that leg to stand on yet. So, how do you know?

I was raised in a very strict Christian household. I left the church when I was 18. Now, years later, I am married to a man who is a Christian. I want my children to be raised with the same values and morals that I was, but I just don't know if I believe that stuff anymore. I just haven't ever seen anything to leave me TO believe. I figure if God really wanted me to believe, he would show me somehow right? I don't NOT believe, I just don't really have any reason TO... What am I, agnostic?
