There is no element of doubt. Fire (Agni) is considered pure by Hindu scripts.
1) Fire (Agni) is the first word in the Rig veda ( "अग्निमीळे पुरोहितं...", 'Aghnimīḷe purohitam...'). Agni is the Purifier and carrier of our offerings to Devata (GOD). In Yagna and Homams agni is used to take the materials to the respective Devadas.
Rig-Veda Book 1,HYMN XII, Verses 9 and 10:
"यो अग्निं देववीतये हविष्मानाविवासति |
तस्मै पावक मर्ळय ||
स नः पावक दीदिवो.अग्ने देवानिहा वह |
उप यज्ञं हविश्च नः || "
'yo aghnim devavītaye havismānāvivāsati |
tasmai pāvaka mrḷaya ||
sa nah pāvaka dīdivo.aghne devānihā vaha |
upa yajñam haviśca nah ||'
'Whoso with sacred gift would fain call Agni to the feast of Gods,
O Purifier, favour him.
Such, Agni, Purifier, bright, bring hither to our sacrifice,
To our oblation bring the Gods.'
2) 'Agni pariksha' is a common term used to prove a truth or prove any pure status. Agni is a standard for purity.
Utthara Kanda of Valmiki Ramayana:
Rama told Sita Devi to do " Agni Pravesam" in front of all to prove that she was pure. Sita entered the Agni in front of all and came out unscathed "as pure as ever". The God of Fire (Agni Bhagawan) himself handed over Sita Devi to Rama.
At the end of Utthara Kanda:
Valmiki led her to Ram and said, "Son of Dasaratha, here is your wife, the ever chaste Sita. Fire itself cools at her approach, for she is PURER than AGNI. Twelve years ago, you abandoned her in front of my ashram through fear of public censure. But I tell you truly, she is as chaste as Anasuya, the wife of Atri. If Sita is tainted, then let my austerities be in vain. Though you loved her and knew her to be innocent, you repudiated her, to satisfy your subjects. Now at your insistence, she is here to prove her innocence for the second time".

I'm assuming "Eather," is "Ether." I'm also assuming you mean Spiritual elements.
Well, Ether is kinda an element- it's mostly the union of all the elements working together, the sum being greater than the parts. However it's also the binding force that keeps them from being too chaotic and not balanaced. If you consider that fine as an element, then that is.
However, from Ether, comes Fire. Fire is the first, essentially the creative principle, the element which charges the other ones. Based on the 4 "Mundane elements," it is the purest, as it is the most spiritual.

They are all elements, but purest, I'd have to say water. It has so many cleansing affects on the body. Fire is pure to, look up at the sun and sit there for 10 minutes and you feel rejuvenated.
Sit on the ground for 10 min. and the earths feels grounding. Breath the air, not in nyc though, and you feel fresh. Hope that helped.

Out of the panchamahabhootas I find Fire to be the Purifire.
Fire materialistically can consume (meaning alter, purify, change state) of all the other elements. Spiritually agni resides in all these elements too as sthiraagni in earth, sheetaagni in water, vyomaagni in ether or Aakash, praanaagni in air, and svahagni in fire itself. All these agnis combine together in the human to give birth to yet another set of agnis which make the human perform his duties, the basic of these agnis being Jatharaagni meaning hunger.
So all in all fire or agni is an all prevelant tatva and also in its own form is capable of purifying the rest of the tatvas, hence Fire is the purest of the elements.
Thanks

None of those are elements.
Earth is made of many elements. Water is made of hydrogen and oxygen. Ether is a compound of oxygen, hydrogen, and carbon. Fire is not made of matter. Air is a solution of several gasses.
Message to the above:
Fire is not an element, not a plasma, and not a state of matter.

Chemically none of them these are element.
The term element is used to refer to a pure chemical substance composed of atoms with the same number of protons.
According to Hindu literature
The pancha mahabhuta, or "five great elements", of Hinduism are khsiti or bhumi (earth), ap or jala (water), agni or tejas (fire), marut or pavan (air or wind), and byom or akasha (aether). Hindus believe that God used akasha to create the other four traditional elements, and that the knowledge of all human experience is imprinted in the akashic records.

Ether,
Sound is in ether, right?
I guess, Just seems fire might have some imperfection.
"O son of Kunti, I am the taste of water, the light of the sun and the moon, the syllable om in the Vedic mantras; I am the sound in ether and ability in man."
Bhagavad Gita As It Is 7.8
"The seven singing meters, namely sa (sadja), r (rsabha), ga (gandhara), ma (madhyama), pa (pancama), dha (dhaivata) and ni (nisada), are also transcendental and specifically meant for transcendental songs. "
Srimad Bhagavatam 1.6.32
