Way I see it, there's this book. It describes and names a god, and you all have it. Great, that's nice. (name's the god "God", like naming the new '08 truck model "Truck", but whatever)

BUT, you actually believe this God is real and true for what reason(s)? Many of you have had special feelings, or special experiences. Many of you think the Bible is historically accurate, so everything in it must be true. Many of you think the prophesies are being proved true, so that's why the Bible is the word of God.

However, none of these reasons actually imply that the thing you felt, experience, believed was a miracle is can be exclusively attributed to one single being named God. It could have been a different god for each of you. It could have been a natural phenomenon. It could have been in your mind (another natural phenomenon). I'm sure you're thinking "God wouldn't act that way or let that happen", but you really haven't got that leg to stand on yet. So, how do you know?

"When several people who are christians all have the same feelings, thought, words or otherwise about something that none of them talked about previously"

Good, the first attempt at a real answer. But why narrow it to Christians? If they didn't know before, how are they Christians? Why not count the other MAJORITY of the world who think their god is the one god?

I know because I met Him in my heart.

I didn't "feel" anything. I came to know something: God. I know He is God the same way I know my husband's face, even in a crowd of people. It IS a natural phenomenon, as natural as the knowledge that 2 + 2 = 4, and God is the source of all phenomena anyway. If you haven't experienced it yourself, and if my explanations don't satisfy your curiosity, then maybe this "spirituality" stuff isn't for you.

It's called faith. There is no confusion as God has no other name other than God, unlike those other names you've read in that book you mention. Each one of us has the right to believe in whatever God we wish, in whatever image. In miracles you cite a natural phenomenon but what causes nature? It could have been mental but faith is involved. You therefore ask questions to ascertain a factual answer like a scientist but without faith, questions will always remain.

there are codes in the torah, despite virtually impossible mathematical odds. the odds of this happening were so slim that even the US pentagon experimented with it, because of the jewish tradition that holds that all the secrets of the universe are written within these codes. anyone who knows anything about mathematics and biology knows that the fibonaci sequence appears all throughout nature, but few know that it shows up in the book of joshua, despite virtually impossible mathematical odds. these things simply don't appear in other ancient sacred texts.

the torah foretold the 1947 execution of nazi officers during the jewish holiday of purim in exacting detail, along with specific dates. the prophet isaiah prophesied the crucifixion 400 years before the method was invented by the persians, and 700 years before it was used on Jesus by the romans.

Jesus fulfilled 48 major and 61 minor messianic prophecies, despite vitually impossi... we know this to be true because there is no ancient text with more manuscript support than the new testament. we know the synoptic gospels in particular to be accurate because of the importance of accuracy in ancient jewish oral traditions, and because of the writings of secular historians of the same time period, which only confirm the synoptic gospels.

When several people who are christians all have the same feelings, thought, words or otherwise about something that none of them talked about previously, you know that the same God has effected us all. I have seen this both within one church and over several churches. If you want god to touch your life too, just ask him. He's there, and there is only ONE of him.

by faith, we know... and it isn't just a book that names a God. is the love letter God has written to his love. study that book every which way with an open heart and you will not be able to deny its divinity. it was compiled by 60 something authors, kings, prophets, paupers, laborers, prisoners, from many different nations over centuries. old and new covenant, they all paint a perfect portrait together without seeing what the other has contributed, and that portrait identifys God, the word became flesh in Jesus Christ.

Or the solar system the solar system, or the moon the moon, or the sun the sun. It is common convention actually.

There could be 100s of gods for all I know... I am just making a best guess.

The first commandment is: "I am the Lord thy God; Thou shalt have no other gods before Me".

Look all around you: all that you see is what God has created. He has given witness of Himself to us through His creation; humans, animals, trees, beaches, oceans, etc. If you don't see what God has created, then you're both physically blind as well as spiritual. I'm a born again Christian myself and the only God is my Creator: God the Father in heaven.

Actually, i was young...setting in a church..innocent as they come.. and i don't even know what the minister was talking about...the singing was fun,,,and i didn't mind the talking at all, and the people were nice...but as i sat ther..i felt something i never in my life knew exhisted...now..i've sat in buildings before, at school! and in differant places..so what made this so differant? and it wouldn't go away either...it got stronger..and i couldn't describe it, but it was "nice" and made me feel warm and i cried-without being spanked by my parents, or being hurt..or anything...and i didn't know what was going on..and someone told me it was "Jesus" i had a suspicion it was somebody..because that's what it kinda felt like...a big hug...i said "hello" and next thing i know.."we were talking!" it was very strange to me being there in this church...but i am so glad i went...and to this day "we talk" and share...and lots of things...so, i know this wasn't my imagination...i was to young and dumb to make it up...so, you just go ahead and think and believe what you want..."I know better.." "Peace!" (and, have a nice day!)

The truth is revealed by God to those who love and seek the truth.
Those who seek the truth receive a gift from God called faith and it is through faith that they receive revelation from God and a personal relationship with him.

Documented evidence of Jesus' death and resurrection.

Documented miracles in the presence of many witnesses, none of which were refuted during their lifetimes.

Fulfilled prophecy.
