I was watching the news last night and found out my city ranked # 11 on the most dangerous city in the country list. I've never really worried about anything happening to me, but have always been very cautious. Now, I'm a little paranoid especially with the baby on the way. How safe do you feel in your city and do you know what it ranked?

I live in Orlando. Which is a pretty big city and ranked # 25 last year and #27 the year before when I moved here. You would think being such a big tourist city there wouldn't be so many problems, but there are. It's ridiculous. Why can't we all just get along?

I feel safe in my apt.complex and around my neighborhood in the day time.I live in Vegas so you must watch out at night or in large parking stuctures. My son was robbed out side of a 7-11 while getting gas one yearly evening. So I try to do things in the daytime and stay indoors at night.
Too many people with gambling habits and too much meth in this town.Too many people coming here for just a few days and cutting loose.

I was robbed for $7 and (almost) a $95 silver chain by 5 people, all younger than me, one of which had a huge tree branch and one of which supposedly had a knife (that I never saw). I was a freshman in HS at the time, two blocks from home.
I still feel safe after dark in that neighborhood (even though I have since moved -- unrelated reasons). It's a matter of it being an isolated incident, I think. In certain cities, even mine, intelligent people just don't go certain places at certain times (unless of course they live there). Caution is not the same as paranoia or (God forbid you ever get accused of this) racism.
Have a great day!

I did a lot of research before moving here, my city is ranked in the top ten best places to raise a family. Low crime rates, not a single rape and only one murder this year. I lived in a big city previously, and never ever felt safe there. Here, I feel much safer, and I feel like my daughter is also much safer.

Pretty safe. But then I live in Edinburgh, which I don't think ranks very high in this respect. I used to live in Nottingham, which had quite serious problems with gun crime and gang culture, so I felt a lot less safe there.

Pretty safe, I live in one of those small towns where you just don't hear that much about murders and much crime. Seriously, I don't live too far from substandard housing and compared to most ghettos; those apartments are pretty safe. The most you hear about is drugs and fights (not armed) breaking out. It seems like most of the murders in our town are in the nearby smaller towns or communities.

very safe. i live in a small midwestern town. a crime around here would be like if one of our teens knocked over the garbage cans on main street, and it hasn't happened it. a very pleasant life with well behaved teenagers
