I'm a production manager working on a project with my right-hand girl who is very helpful but has a BIG attitude when she is frusterated. She doesn't communicate her reasoning for it; just gives attitude. She gave me 2 wks notice a month ago. I held a going away happy hour for her & the next day - she changed her mind about quiting. I told her if she is going to stay, she'll need to adjust her attitude & communicate when something is bothering her. Now.. she is giving attitude again. I've considered promoting her to supervisor but this prevents that from happening.

Should I even bother pulling her aside & talking or just pull her off the project? She does a great job but not sure if I can deal with her $#it..

I am going with my bf at thanksgiving to visit his family in another state. We have been together almost 2 years and I have only met his mom once and she didnt even talk to me. He has told me he wants me to either call her "mama" or Mrs. P* because he feels it would be disrespectful to call her by her 1st name. I really don't feel comfortable calling her mama since I don't know her and she has said some hurtful things about me in the past. But he says if I try to call her Mrs. P* she will just tell me to call her mama. Do I just suck it up and call her mama even though I am extremely uncomfortable with it?

all I see is 100% hatred against God and His word, maybe 1% of you could say something good or positive about God!

I can't believe that everything you say about God is negative!

Whether your of an organized religion or not.

1. Do you think that you know everything?

2. How do you feel when you're called stupid and unitelligent for what you believe in?

3. Do reject everything scientific? Scientific teachings, do automatically disgard them?

4. What do you say when people people blame God for every aspet of evil that happen? War, the suffering in Africa whatever? How do you explain that?

5. What's something that you're tired of having to explain over and over again? Something you're sick of hearing about your belief?

Thanks!!

If it does exist wouldn't the change. The cleansing of our sins have to take place in a moment? In the twinkling of an eye? Read the verses below. Surely those who are changed at the last trump from corruptible to incorruptible. From mortal to immortality are not then going to be sent to purgatory.

1Corinthians 15:52 In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.
1Co 15:53 For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality.
1Co 15:54 So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory.

There were a few people having a roundtable discussion. Some were Christians. Some atheists. Others theists. One of the women stated that there is only one Truth, but there are many ways to look at that Truth. Science looks at Truth through their narrow scope, but there are many more ways to observe it. She did not elaborate on any of the other ways, but simply continued on by saying that a lot of our experiences occur in the part of the brain that we don't understand and that we shouldn't become slaves to the scientific way of thinking, as that will have devastating consequences. She gave no reason whatsoever for her opinions, but stated them very matter-of-factly.
Another woman (who did not believe in a particular version of God) said that you can only truly understand god through Buddhism or some other "outside the box" way of thinking. She claimed to have personal experiences with God often, but could not describe any aspect of these experiences.
Your thoughts?

This has happened with other jobs and even if i am in the same room with the vice president, she stares at me alot when gving presentation. This question goes to all the managers and big wigs...what makes you want to stare at a particular person when you are having group meetings....it is embarressing and always happens to me.

how are they NOT christian when they have "jesus christ" in the title of their church?

If you believe in Jesus Christ, you are a Christian. That's the basic definition anyways. why are people so nitpicky?

I'm wondering about the Holy Grail, and the cup that Joseph hid in Benjamins sack in order to keep him in Egypt. Whether you take it as a real cup or a metaphor is entirely up to you; but do you think there is any meaningful connection between the two cups? I'd be really interested what people think about this....

Actually this makes no sense at all, since 'sin' is supposed to mean disobeying a deity, and someone who doesn't believe said deity exists at all cannot reasonably be said to be disobeying it. The word 'sin' would only apply to believers even if a deity *did* exist, which of course is not the case, so sin does not exist either.

Do you find today's parents more lenient, or are they just more enlightened? I think most are too lenient, but at the same time, they have more educational parenting information available to them, if they just choose to use it.

I keep reading on this forum that evolution has been "proved false" and I would like to know where you get this from. To those who make this claim, please say which books or websites you have read on the subject.

Have you studied any serious works such as Dawkins The Selfish Gene or Mayr's What evolution is?

If so, please say which. For those interested in knowing more about evolution, this site is a good place to start: http://www.talkorigins.org/
