there will be a room filled with people on my team but my boss seem to concentrate on looking at me all the time. This has happened with other jobs and even if i am in the same room with the vice president, she stares at me alot when gving presentation. This question goes to all the managers and big wigs...what makes you want to stare at a particular person when you are having group meetings....it is embarressing and always happens to me.

what i mean by the vice president is that even the vice president would stare at me while giving speech...only people who don't stare are the supervisors and smaller peons.

if a person is giving a speech, they make eye contact with the audience. They usually make more eye contact with the person that is paying attention to them more, which it's not a bad impression to give your boss.

Don't feel bad, feel relieved. When I have to explain changes in procedures or go over company concerns and even employee concerns, I tend to look at those who agree with the changes or understand where I'm coming from. Someone I can feel comfortable talking to instead of focusing on those who may be in trouble or disagreeable. Although I try not to make it seem obvious. I find it less stressful that way. But if you are truly concerned try talking to someone (boss) you trust to give you their outlook.

Probably has something to do with the fact that you look like your absorbing the info. The same thing happens to me, maybe not as much as you, but even in little things like when someone is talking to both my boyfriend and I, people will talk towards me most the time. I think we look like we care or are really listening, even when were not. It's a good thing. It can be a little bothersome, but I think in all it's a good thing.

A lot of people are a little intimidated giving a speech and one of the ways of being confident is to stare/look at something/someone that makes you comfortable. Take it as a compliment.

Well maybe it's because your staring at them, actually listening. I mean I'm no big wig but I know in class when I'm the only one paying attention I'm the only one getting looked at by my teacher, but it's because I'm listening, giving them the attention I want.

Are you really attractive? Maybe your boss likes you. If he stares to the point that you're uncomfortable then he likes you. Either that or there is something really interesting, or fascinting about you. I would worry about it too much. However if your boss approaches you or touches then it's another story entirely.

I get that all the time too. He might be slightly nervous about public speaking, and is focusing on you because he knows you are a 'friendly' listener. Or, maybe you just have that kind of non-threatening pleasant face :)

well maybe their looking at you as someone who can take on a project and get it done.Sometimes people will stare at others because they have insecurities and can't look at other people because they don't have a good personality
From experience it's easier to look at a smiling face instead of someone who glares.Or they think your very adorable and just can't stop looking

That could be because is waiting for you to say something, is checking your responses or maybe because you are wearing the skirts too short! jajaja
