Well my mom's family lives in a different city than my dad's family, so every thanksgiving we rotate who we go to. And I KNEW with all my heart that we went to my mom's family last year but my mom kept saying, NO, NO. but now i found proof that we went because of something i wrote to my friends in a notebook last thanksgiving.

So i told my parents (even though we've already made plans and told my mom's side of the family that we're coming) that we did go there and showed them what i wrote. And now they're in a big fight because my dad is like, "well that's not fair i want to see my family too, it's not fair to them." and my mom is like, "Well we already made plans! Nobody knows! I can't just tell them we're not coming!!" and they're yelling at each other.

I feel really bad since this is my fault. what should i do? who's family do you think we should go to?

I tried getting at this earlier and provided too much information. People got sidetracked. So trying again.

Catholics if you got up tomorrow and the pope issued a statement and said he had realized through study that purgatory does not exist. Would you accept this? Would you start teaching against it even though today you fully believe it exists? Would you send the pope letters with verses supporting purgatory or just accept it?

If you answer is going to be something along the lines of this would never happen please don't bother answering. I want people who can think hypothetically.

Today I went shopping and the cashier was totally rude and hostile for no apparent reason. I don't think that complaining to the manager would work, I worked in retail before. I think it would be dismissed as a petty complaint from a fussy customer (which I am not, I just expect the BASIC customer service). All I wanted was to receive a copy of my receipt and a minimum of courtesy, like "you are welcome and bye". So, have you ever felt like going in the store next time and hiding a stink bomb? Or what do you do? Should you go in with a cup of coffee (not burning) and spill it in the cashier's face to humiliate him in front of everyone?

I am really concerned about this. I don't go to church a lot but I think of myself as a good Christian. What do you think? Does God disapprove of people who do not go to church much?

Being "spiritual" is still considered religious for the sake of this question. You either are or you aren't.

1 day is a measurement of time based on the rotation of the earth. How can the bible say that things were created in 7 days before the thing a "day" is measured by doesn't exist yet?

I'm a Christian and I don't judge people. None of the Christians I know judge people. We just worry about the day that other people will be judged by God. It isn't up to us...do what you wanna do. I just don't get why people are so prejudice against us.

Alright, since this place obviously isn't for Ramadan questions, I'd like to take this opportunity to actually learn something.

1.
As a Muslim (I think I'm in the right place?), what are your personal thoughts on the Burqa? What is your opinion on the "l'affaire du voile" (Veil contreversy in France)

2.
What are some scriptural references for veils and women's rights?

3.
What do you think of "modern" music, particularly rap or "rock 'n roll"?

4.
Do you think Muslims in the upper ranks of society in the Middle East have deviated from the true teachings of Islam (whatever they may be?) on issues such as women's education, state religion etc.

5.
What do you think of Jews and Christians - "long-lost cousins", "complete strangers" or "neighbour that you really don't like so you build a very tall fence and then the city tells you to take it down"?

Enlighten me?

From the ignorant little infidel,

I'm a 47 year old white male who, today, was involved in a flirtatious little chit-chat with a 30 year old black female. At one point in our conversation she said "I would date you if you weren't too old."

Obviously, this woman believes it is perfectly acceptable to make discriminating decisions based solely on age.

But I wondered, afterward, how she would feel, or how she would respond, had I returned "you need not worry, I would never date a black woman."

Do we live in a culture where it is acceptable to discriminate based on age, but not on ethnicity? What say you?

Perhapse we are at the center of the universe thanks be to God.
1984, after decades of,,,,,,,Uhm,,,,,, nothing, Seti decides to open up all of their resources to over 3 million home participants, to help search the cosmos and still 'Not even a ping'. Whats up with that?
Dawgonnit! 50+ years of searching the cosmos, a 6.5+ billion year old universe with literally millions of civilizations out there that have come and gone and none!,,,,,,,,, not one,,,, ever sent one single signal? In 6.5 billion years one would think a signal could travel quite a ways. One would think at least a ping would have arrived here by now. Seti and its home project have logged over 160,000 years of computing time making it the largest computation ever done. Ping? If intelligent life here on earth just occured by happenstance, surley it occured all over our galaxy and universe. Or did it? Ping?

Why is that answer acceptable when it comes from God?
I don't mean to ridicule but that answer would not be accepted from human to human.
Maybe thats my problem with the whole idea of "God"..its not even remotely human.

the Father??

The JWs agree that Jesus is a "Mighty God", as Isaiah 9:6 indicates, but they say he is not God Almighty like Jehovah is. Does the fact that Jesus is referred to as a " Mighty God" ???indicate he is lesser God than the Father ( Reasoning from the Scriptures, 1989,413-414 )
