This is the most viable theory for this head scratcher endorsement.
Ayatollah Robertson suddenly endorses gay rights and abortions... Hmmm I believe you've hit this nail right on the head!
You get a star AND I'm adding you to my contacts.

The link you posted gives Robertson's reason in his own words:

"Robertson said he has faith that the former prosecutor would appoint judges that appeal to conservatives. 'He understands the need for a conservative judiciary and with the help of the distinguished Ted Olsen, who is here today, and other members of his team, has assured the American people that his choices for judicial appointments will be men and woman who share the judicial philosophy of John Roberts and Anthony Scalia,' said Robertson.

Robertson might be right. Republicans differ on many issues, but virtually all are united in appointing originalists to the Supreme Court, men and women who will apply the words of the Constitution rather than view it as some sort of Rorschach inkblot test.

However, Robertson is an evangelist, not a politician, as he demonstrated in many a foolish, off-the-cuff remark. Rudy Giuliani was a very good mayor, but he is a very liberal Republican, and despite his current lead in some polls, he will not be nominated by the pro-life, pro-family Republican Party.

Cheers,
Bruce

The following was taken from an article written in 1978:

"Terms such as 'holy war' (Chicago Tribune), 'A war of Christianity versus godless humanism' (Washington Star), and 'New force in American politics' (New York Times), speak for themselves.

Pat Robertson, founder and host of 'The 700 Club,' and president of CBN TV Network, challenges Christians to get into the political arena so we can 'place this nation under God.' For 'we have, together with the Protestants and the Catholics, enough votes to run the country. And when the people say, 'We've had enough,' we are going to take over.'"

It is not so much about the mighty dollar as someone suggested but about taking over the reigns of government. This is what is prophesied in the book of revelation. The symbolism employed is that of a woman (church) riding (controlling) the government to enforce her religious decrees.

Folks, we are about to enter into the very last days of this earth's history. The United States are to play a major role as prophesied in Revelation 13. Morality is soon to be imposed upon all by legislative enacments. The US government, (represented by a lamb with two horns in Rev.13) will be led on by the moral majority movement and will be made to speak like a dragon! Revelation 13:11.

Gee, do you really think it stupid to think Iran has nuclear weapons? Of course they do...if they don't, they are close to getting them........Pat endorsed Giuliani because he is the only one running, who has a chance of defeating the Hillary train.....Republicans have to keep the White House at all cost or this nation is going to be in a very big mess...If Hillary gets in, we will have a whole lot more to worry about than weather or not Giuliani is a "good" Christian....there is just no choice..we would like to see Huckabee in there, but he can't beat Hillary....that is it in a nut shell....Giuliani did promise Pat that he would not put in far left judges,,,that is a small compromise but better than whoever Hilliary would put in.

What, you've never heard of the lesser of two evils? You have two choices, Hitler and Stalin. No way out of it, you can't not vote. Who do you choose? The same is true with party politics. You have to choose a republican, and the republican which is most likely to win rather than let the democrats have the White House--because they'll do more to compromise your beliefs than Rudy will. I guess.
If it were up to me, a Libertarian would win in 2008.

Apparently Pat is just another phony. I can't imagine a true Christian endorsing Giuliani.

I think Ron Paul is much closer to the Christian ideal. Dr. Paul believes in trading and talking to other nations, not bombing them. He has delivered about 4000 babies. He has been married to the same woman for fifty years.

Even his opponents have to admit Ron Paul's honesty and integrity.

Pat Robertson would probably try to justifiy this on the terorist threat, but IMHO it would have been better to hold out any indorsement.

I hope Rudy becomes president so i will turn a bind eye to this endorsement.

Kid; you don't get it we are in WWIII and we need strong leaders not wimps like the Clinton's. Or the child Obama.

Because Rudy has the neocon clan all at his camp. That Norman guy is the devil. They want to beat up Iran.
Ultimately they want to build a temple for someone to come back.
And we all know that will never happen.
