That's like asking "How much wood would a woodchuck chuck if a woodchuck could chuck wood" - only slightly LESS confusing ;);););)

What am I missing? I believe it was all completed in 6 days - on the seventh day this god rested. [?] Why would this thing rest?
This is amazing in itself as this god was so perfect and could do anything and everything - that it should take more than one second for a creation is quite remarkable of itself. Apparently this god was a bit slow on the take and isn't as wonderful as the claims are. Of course, there is also the idea that after it created mankind it decided to destroy it all with a great flood. If all the claims that are made are that this deity was so powerful, why something as ridiculous as a flood. A nice thunderbolt would have been better, at least not many would have suffered by a death of that nature. For that matter why not just destroy the whole thing and start a new one?
Where are you getting this measurement from?

Actually, it was 6 days, God rested on the seventh.
Here is the account of the first day. Notice the use of the words Morning and Evening, which by all accounts indicates 24 hours. While the sun and moon were not created until later, God did create a "light" and the absense of that light which represented the day and night that we observe using the sun. This light is also what gave light to the plants, which were also created prior to the sun.
Whatever way you want to look at it. On the first day, there was an evening and a morning, which leaves no room for the "millions" of years required for evolutionist and "gap theory" followers. All indications point to 6 24hour days.

Actually, the Hebrew word in Genesis that is translated "day" is used in several different places in that passage to refer to contrasting periods of time, as in "the evening and the morning", or "there was darkness and light". It doesn't necessarily mean 24 hours, and there's no good reason to think it must. It just means God created the world in stages, and moved from lower to higher forms. The creation story is often misinterpreted, but that is the fault of the interpreters, not the Bible.

The Bible says in Genesis chapter 1, verses 1 and 2: "In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth. And the earth was without form, and void;"
So, this is saying that in the very beginning, he already created the heaven (or skies) and the earth.

Knowledge of the Bible is obviously NOT your strong suit. The Bible says it was done in SIX days, not SEVEN. On the SEVENTH day, God rested. Not that He was tired, he just stopped creating & forming.
The 'day' could have been a nano-second or years.
Why are you majoring on the minor? You should be concerned with where you'll spend eternity instead of petty stuff.

Genesis 1:1 states that "In the beginning, God created the heaven and the earth" Earth was one of the first things He created so your argument does not make sense.
BTW, creation took six days and on the seventh day, God rested.

ok, study Genesis a million and you will see that it somewhat is rather 6 days... and confident they have been 6 days basically as you and that i might think of of them... that 24hour-ish era we call an afternoon. The seventh day is the day He rested, this is why He gave the Jews a Sabbath... or a holy day of relax. something else they gained't actually admit to in public faculties is that the fee of light isn't consistent. it is likewise a relative and variable velocity. whilst making the calculations of the distances of stars from the earth, they provide the impact of being like thousands and thousands of light years away, whilst they in all threat are not. We anticipate the fee of light does not substitute in area, inspite of the certainty that all of us be responsive to gravity impacts it and that when meditated it actually will enhance in velocity. flow determine, we are able to control the fee of light devoid of changing the medium it is going by using. To make amends for irregularities of what's rather pronounced during the telescope, we could substitute the way we predict of with reference to the universe. The theories of dark count and dark skill come into play. We see by using a telescope in one area of the Galaxy 2 stars which seem to be too close. something could shop them from crashing into one yet another or doing something which we don't see happening... dark count/skill. yet another greater achievable concept is to assert that the fee of light actually slows down over the years and that from it somewhat is unique source is rather lots swifter than what we believe it to be... calculate often happening phenomenon like redshifts and blueshifts and we actually do desire a clean form to define our universe. fortuitously, there are various creationist and non-creationist scientist which do not settle for our present day form which we use to symbolize the often happening universe... they have began artwork in this over 10 years in the past and that i've got yet to take heed to something, yet aparently the two factors are cooking up something sturdy because of the fact neither area likes the present dark count/skill form. it somewhat is meant to be a form this is so radical that it somewhat is going to likely be like the days a helo-centric universe form challenged the geo-centric form. regrettably, i've got not been able to finding something new basically yet. one component i be responsive to is the Bible is real and precise. at last all sciences will come to a minimum of one end... there's a God and He made us approximately 6,000 years in the past... genetics and geology already vouch for this on a brilliant point.

The book of Genesis was written by moses. In his time the Day had been invented or created his writings were inspired by God in his (moses ) lifetime the day measurement had already been invented

God's definition of "days" could have been anything. Heck, for all we know he could have worked for a million years "our time" before turning in for the "night," and called that a day. God says he made the world in seven days, and human concept of days is different than God's. It doesn't mean that God didn't create the world in seven days; he just created it in seven days according to him.
