You should only believe in the God who only asks you to be happy and lead a good life. Some people feel that it is necessary to go to church to show others and God their views, but i disagree. If you think church could do anything to help you come closer to what you believe in by all means go. But if you feel like it is not something you would enjoy or agree with don't go.
God is all about us being happy, not controlling our lives.
Think of it this way. If you had a friend who really wanted you to go to their boring soccer game and said they would disapprove of you if you didn't would you want to continue being their friend.
Do what makes you happy and don't regret it.

I think church is more about being part of a community of believers. If being with others and worshiping together strengthens your faith, it makes sense to attend regularly. If it does not, and your faith is more personal or private, I think how you express that though your life and actions is more important. However, because your faith is internal, it may be hard for others to see you as Christian if you don't really participate in the religion, the culture of belief.

You don't have to go to church. You do God's work and that's all there is. Church is not neccesarily going to an old building and listening to a preacher. Church is a time for you and others to get together and worship.

USA Man,
God intends for us to lift one another up in spiritual songs and to partake of the Lord's Supper as the first century Christians did on the first day of the week. We also read, study, pray, and have weekly lessons at our Church. Why would you NOT want to attend these services? Have a great evening and a wonderful week.
Thanks,
Eds

The Bible says:
Hebrews 10:23 Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful;
24 and let us consider how to stimulate one another to love and good deeds,
25 not forsaking our own assembling together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another; and all the more as you see the day drawing near.
So God wants us to associate with other Christians by assembling together. He wants us to go to church.

The early Christians met in each others homes.
I think God just wants us to Study the bible, pray, and follow His commands.
Churches are good for social times with other believers, communion, tithing, good works which is beneficial for us.
Here is a good web site where you can study the bible on live and taped broadcasts.
http://www.shepherdschapel.com/
and learn,
"wherever two or three are gathered together, there I am in the midst of them."

Do you think that there weren't any faithful to God before churches existed? I hope not! lol
A Good Christian means to me a person who trusts God, and is unshakable in their faith of Him.
I hope you get a lot of answers like mine.

The Xian life is not about whether or not we belong to a church, officially, but Xians should belong to some sort of community where teaching is given, worship is performed and fellowship is found.
