Prayer, the last refuge of the truly desperate, and criminals.
And at no time does prayer work.
All they have to do is wait, It WILL rain eventually.
Hey Georgia I have a rock that makes it rain. It works too. All you have to do is leave it outside and eventually it will rain. Never fails.

Bizarre. Maybe its because of Bush, but I understood that wasn't legal.
I used to live in a little town in NC, which was stuffed to the brim with Christians. Even Mormons would've scared these people, they were ALL Christian.
With the full concensus of the group (it wasn't even a question, really, in this town), the mayor always liked to start the meetings with a prayer. A journalist from somewhere was there on vacation, got a speeding ticket, and while in the courthouse, overheard them praying.
As a journalist, she was able to spread the news about their "violation of the seperation of church and state." It was a major fiasco, and the law was against them. So, this is rather shocking. But then, it may be because of Bush.

No, I'm noticing how a religious government official is turning to his bronze-age superstitions out of desperation due to lack of rain. A governor's decisions do not represent the actions of an entire state, as much as you'd like the affirmation of your belief that such an act would indicate.

You put him down for his religion, but realize, Sonny Perdue is well loved, even by democrats. He has been very good to this state despite whatever you may say about him. If prayer gives the citizens hope in this state who have no water for several hours everyday, then I am all for it. It doesn't hurt anyone and who are you to say what he can and can't pray for?

How ironic...
The idea of 'God' was invented to explain things like 'why it rains' before people understood the science behind such phenomenon.
So does God make rain - or does rain make God?

Yes, and yet the last day we had any significant amount of rain was the day H.H. The Dalai Lama came to speak.

I do like peaches. I hope it rains. Maybe they should do a little dance. That might help.
