If Jesus was claiming or thinking that he was God, he could have just been asking, "Do you think I'm God?" That's the most liberal interpretation I can think of. But my position is, why must we assume that the words attributed to Jesus were really spoken by him and in the context they're presented a la scripture?
Jon M: so, if we can't take it literally then we must take it how? Metaphorically? If that's the case, then doesn't that make interpretation subject to everyone's perspective? No, I know the answer: The Holy Spirit reveals the true meaning to the elect, right? Which means, if I don't agree with your interpretation, then I must not have been enlightened by the Holy Spirit and am therefore dead in sin. I really hate religion.

Mar 10:18 And Jesus said unto him, Why callest thou me good? there is none good but one, that is, God.
In this verse, Jesus was speaking as a man when He was preaching as a man.
Jesus is God as stated in John Chapter 1, n here it is:
Joh 1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
Joh 1:2 The same was in the beginning with God.
Joh 1:3 All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.
Joh 1:4 In him was life; and the life was the light of men.
Joh 1:5 And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not.
Joh 1:6 There was a man sent from God, whose name was John.
Joh 1:7 The same came for a witness, to bear witness of the Light, that all men through him might believe.
Joh 1:8 He was not that Light, but was sent to bear witness of that Light.
Joh 1:9 That was the true Light, which lighteth every man that cometh into the world.
Joh 1:10 He was in the world, and the world was made by him, and the world knew him not.
Joh 1:11 He came unto his own, and his own received him not.
Joh 1:12 But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:
Joh 1:13 Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.
Joh 1:14 And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.
Study this verses so that you can understand and come to know that Jesus is God. The "word" stated there is Jesus as God and witness by John who was sent by God .
You should read the entire bible so that you know what you are stating before asking stupid questions. Who is liar now, Jesus Christ or you? Understand? OK?
A JW religion could not understand the bible and are false religion. Why believe on a religion who do not know how to understand the words in the bible? No way.

Divine Mystery 101
God cannot be tempted
Jesus was tempted
God is without sin.
Jesus became sin for us.
Jesus is the Word Who was with God and Who was God from the beginning and Who emptied Himself of His deity and put on flesh to conquer sin and death. The Scripture declares that Jesus learned obedience by what He suffered and called out to God Who was able to save Him from death. He counted on God for everything. If your Mark passage is the best you can do for a prooftext that Jesus is not God, please do better next time...there are many more verses that work better for people with your mindset.

Jesus is God.
God is Jesus
Holy Spirit is God.
Three persons in one God.
Three different roles of God.
Three in one called the Trinity.
Basic Christian belief, best not to
take individual verses out of context.

I really haven't seen this verse before; its interestin isnt it. "good" is as a common word used to describe just about anything. Jesus is not anything ordinary. in my opinion He deserves to be titled something more than just plain "good". thats the only explanation i can think of. if you want a real answer, dont ask people on yahoo answers, go to somebody who studies the stuff.

Wow, you sure are a literalist.
Let me help you understand what He was saying: Jesus was saying that when that rich man recognized the good in Him, he was recognizing God. He was saying in effect, "If you see good in me, and only God is good, then who does that mean I am?"

"None is good"... Of himself entirely and essentially, but God alone; men may be good also, but only by participation of God's goodness.
"So is he God or NOT?" Jesus became The Christ after He rose from the dead
