it's causing people not to trust single males.

Also people are making a big deal about it with Halloween.
They are making them post a sign on their house saying, "No Candy" I think that tells people who you are.

I'm not a pedophile, but I like children. Sometimes I think it's getting out of hand. It seems kids are too protected and nobody of either gender can be trusted to compliment how adorable they can be or befriend any minor. What has this world come to?

I received in Zondervan's email today this verse above and then this:
Let everyone be subject to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except that which God has established. The authorities that exist have been established by God.
So then please answer in kindness for I seek only the hard truth, what about Hitler. It doesn't read to me that there are any exceptions, what am I missing ? and Musolini ???

The reason why I ask this is because a recent discussion I had with a Jehovah's Witness they said that "no we are not all God's childre" which is what made me end the discussion promptly. Was this appropiate for the person to say that? Is this how you believe as well?

Please tell me there's hope. Are there any success stories of a loved parent etc. that all seemed to given up on but had a turnaround. What helped. . .please let me know. I will never give up on my dad. Any success stories of someone who was not expected to rehabilitate and was elderly. Any advice. .. please. P.S. Please say a prayer for my dad and our family. What makes you think that you can speak for the Founding Fathers?

Whenever someone asks a question about things such as teaching creationism in school and gay marriage, there always seems to be someone that says "The founding fathers of America would not approve of it", "If the founding fathers knew that creationism was not being taught in school, they would be very angry", etc...

I know that many of the founders of the Constitution were Christian, but what makes you think that you can speak for them?

I have been Catholic for my whole life since my parents were. However, my son is interested in Mormonism. Last time he got Book of Mormon from the missionaries and I let him buy some scriptures from the Mormon Church on-line. And today he asked me if he could buy "Mormonism for Dummies" and I refused. I'm afraid that he's getting into it. Although I don't know much about Mormonism, I know that it has negative reputation and I want my son to be in the majority. For now, he's rational since he asks me to attend (Catholic) Church regularly as I used to do and enjoys learning other religions as well. But he clearly identifies him as a Mormon-although not a member-and I'm afraid that he might eventually become irrational. Also, when I yelled at him as he asked me for permission to buy the book, he was dissapointed and quietly said "I live in America but have no freedom of religion".
What should I do? I somewhat understand what my son said but don't want him to be a Mormon. Please help.

Eph 2:8: "For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God—not by works, so that no one can boast." Does Paul refute the consistent teaching of Jesus that we will be judged by our works?

For example, Matt 7:21-23: "Not everyone who says to me, 'Lord, Lord,' will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only he who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. Many will say to me on that day, 'Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and in your name drive out demons and perform many miracles?' Then I will tell them plainly, 'I never knew you. Away from me, you evildoers!'

In terms of contributions to humanity, charity, individual achievements, reaching ones potential, morality, ethics, etc, is there really any area of life that one side out does the other? Both camps seem to have done equally impressive things, and there seem to be equally excellent people on both sides.

Upon close examination, all the so called religious quandaries in society are really nothing more than man-made problems, which can (and ultimately must) be solved by men and women anyway. Even the theists admit that their god ain't intervening in our affairs.

So don't we have to ask the question...

If atheists can keep pace with the best that theist have to offer, what do we need organized religion for?

We've PROVEN that humans at least have the potential to "do it all" without religion.

Even if we allow for the requisite "life after death" aspect that theists demand, those beliefs have little bearing on the here and now, and can entertained on an individual basis anyway.

Would you also support a Constitutional amendment banning atheism?

Gay marriage goes against the Bible, yes. But atheism goes against it as well. It's pretty clear that the Christian God does not approve of worshipping no god, just like he doesn't approve of homosexual relationships.

So, would you support an amendment -- or, at least, some kind of law -- that makes it illegal for people to be an atheist in this country?

And if you wouldn't, but you support the gay marriage amendment: Why should one be allowed but not the other, if they both go against the Bible?

This is what I was trying to get at with my last question. Again, thanks in advance.
