The Bible warns against the practice of spiritism. (Deuteronomy 18:10-12) we should, be aware that historically this holiday has close connections with the occult. Thus, it can serve as a door leading to spiritism, especially for impressionable youths. Pagan rites and traditions tainted by spiritism simply have no place in Christian worship; they are far from harmless.

I notice that when something good happens in my life, whether I did well on an exam or finally got an interview, I'll say "thank you God!" and go about my happy day.

But during those times when I get bad news or nothing seems to be going right, I tend to pray more and hope things get better. Sometimes I can't help but wonder if maybe God is giving me the bad so I can give Him more attention? It seems almost backwards because then I feel like a hypocrite and only pray when things go wrong, but I also feel like maybe He's sending me a signal like "hey, don't forget I'm here!" I dunno, what do you think?

A good scientific theory makes accurate predictions. We can test these predictions in a controlled experiment to determine the predictive power of the theory.

I was wondering, what testable predictions does intelligent design make? What experiment could I set up to test these predictions?

Since I know this will come up, evolution makes predictions. For example, I could study the specific genetic makeup of the AIDS virus in a population. I could predict that, if we give the population a certain medication, the AIDS virus in that population will become resistant to that medication. I could then test whether or not that is true in a year.

Here are the things that have me worried about my dog.

1) He is not monogomous.
2) He has "special relationships" with other male dogs.
3) At the Park, he goes around sniffing other dogs behinds.

What can I do to prevent him from being so un-Christianlike? He's acting like a liberal!

Serious answers only please. Thanks!

Do you purchase clothing, shoes, makeup, craft items? Ebay? What do you most often purchase online?
I order makeup just so I don't have to deal with snobby saleswomen in department stores. I shop for plus size clothing for one of my daughters. But that is about it for me. Oh, and when my husband gives me bookstore gift certificates I will order books. But I do love wandering a bookstore for an hour or two.

Bible experts, please help me out. I cannot find a verse, which says the Bible is the one and only authentic and infallible guide to Christian doctrine and practice.

Thank you to one of the believers here for pointing this out. He shall remain nameless.

According to a lot of Christians, Jesus came from heaven to earth via Mary and Holy Spirit and He suffered and died a horrible death, but rose again on the third day and went back to heaven from where He came, so did He really die? So many say "He died for my sins." Did He really? The bible says he went back to prepare a place for us, how come he can make the earth in 7 days but it is taking him over 2,000 years to build a mansion? Please no bible verses just honest answers from you anyone can quote a verse.

I mean, the possibility is equal, if not better than the concept of a god...

It would be more likely that another planet had super-advanced machines that came to our planet, and could mimic cars...right?

I am not trying to stir up anything. I just want to understand your line of thinking. I just posted a question regarding how I think it is arrogant that people in this country consider themselves blessed by God when 75% of the world is much poorer than they are. I received a response that stated that God does not bless people with money or worldly things. What, then, does he bless you with? Since food cost money, does he not bless you with food either? I'm confused.
