I am not trying to stir up anything. I just want to understand your line of thinking. I just posted a question regarding how I think it is arrogant that people in this country consider themselves blessed by God when 75% of the world is much poorer than they are. I received a response that stated that God does not bless people with money or worldly things. What, then, does he bless you with? Since food cost money, does he not bless you with food either? I'm confused.

I believe that God does bless us with earthly things, money to survive, jobs, nice things. I believe that he will not allow these things to take a front seat to him and become gods in our lives, but he knows the desires of our hearts and if we would like a better job in order to travel etc.... I don't think this is something the Lord would not do for us.

I hate to brake this to you, but God DOES bless his people with everything they need. and that does include money, land, jobs, wealth, what ever it may be. And yes only a fool would be so blind as to think that God has not blessed nation in a very profound way.

God does bless us with money and material things: Christians are exhorted to seek first God's kingdom and His righteousness and all the other things shall be added unto them. (Matthew 6:33) God wants Christians to seek Him and His kingdom as their first priority and not not money or other material things. God does not want Christians to make money or any other thing to be their God. The LOVE of money is the root of all evil.

I believe all things come from God, so, by extension, I believe those are blessings also.

I'm trying to figure out how we are all supposedly part of some odd divine plan, but God doesn't interfere in our lives because of free will.

Because everything we own comes from God............
Whether it be money, food, housing....etc.....it's all His.
It's just on loan from Him. It belongs to Him anyway so......I'm just asked to be a good steward of it while I'm alive.
My job as a Christian is to praise Him in the good times & in the bad regardless.
Did you ever stop to think that maybe.....just maybe, those poor countries have flat out rejected the Lord? Do you see a pattern here?
