...when that's what we want? Hell is supposed to be a bad place to be. Where does the bad part come in?

My fiance made it clear to me recently that he wants to raise his kids to believe that Jesus Christ died for our sins and rose again and all that stuff. He doesn't want me to give them ideas about other faiths or lead them to believe that his way of believing could be wrong. I don't think I can stomach watching my own children grow up being forced to believe in something I personally feel is incorrect. We do not have children yet, so I could still walk away from this without making any major mistakes.

This is the kind of stuff people break up over, right?

I honestly don't know what to do.

They would HAVE to have faith that when we die, that that it is it, that's all she wrote. They don't know for a fact at all, there isn't a single person alive that knows that as fact so they have faith that it's true. There's no getting around that.

Wheras, faith for believers just come as second nature, they're used to it. So either way, if there is something after death or if there isn't... doesn't make a difference to their life.

But atheists have to KEEP on convincing themselves that there is nothing afterwards. So atheists, technically, have faith in nothing (that definatly doesnt exist) and believers have faith in something (that may exist).

So it would take a lot more faith to believe in nothing than something.

And I'd like to have it without the possibility of someone who doesn't like what I say having the ability to have my question or answer deleted. Personally, I'm tired of trolls rummaging through my Q&A looking for anything they can find in an attempt to have my account deleted. I'm also tired of seeing my friends deleted because certain people can't deal with the perspectives they bring to the forum.

Am I the only one that feels this way? Is there anyone else that would like to have an actual discussion about theology, where you can post multiple times to the same thread in order to respond to other posts? What do you think about Google's site: http://groups.google.com/group/Atheism-vs-Christianity ?
It's not as flashy, but at least you can have an actual conversation. I'm thinking about converting from Religion & Spirituality to Atheism vs. Christianity. What are your thoughts?

come up with an argument and not be twisting it around, you can justify anything if you do this. Why not base your opinion on the whole chapter instead of taking bits and pieces form every where .
Is it because if you based your beliefs on a whole chapter, then you would see how many contredictions there are in the bible, and you wouldent have any thing to base your opions on, because then the bible wouldent support your falts beliefs

What religion would you consider the most closely involved with your faith? Or in other words: what other religion would you chose besides yours if you had to. Don't worry this won't be held accountable towards you, I am just curious.

This might seem like I am bashing Jews but I am not, I just simply find it interesting because Jesus was a Jew. And also I would think that if Christianity is wrong than it would have to be judaism that is right. So hey I'm just trying to see if in the end I'm wrong where am I gonna end up? Looks like it good for me because I say I'm going to heaven because I'm saved and well the Jews don't believe in that so sweet.
