Getting your marriage "blessed" if you are a protestant marrying a Catholic?

I agree, Mark, but I was looking for WHY Catholics believe in this. What are they taught that make this so important?

I don't know what brainwashing text they use to get them to believe that the Catholic Church is in charge of blessings. Did they forget about GOD doing the blessings on all things?
I am a protestant and I do the best I can to follow the doctrines of GOD not the POPE. God loves believers not blasphemers. Did I just get done BLASPHEMING? whoops. I have attented several Catholic Churchs and I must admit I felt like I better do what THEY say and I looked around to find any sign of GOD. naught.

Not important at all.

Catholics are not saved and are not Christians. Catholics teach a false gospel of works that leads to eternal hell (Galatians 1).

If I remember correctly, God's word says, "what God hath joined together", not what the Catholic church has joined together. How does God join a man & wife? With pure LOVE, and that love can't be broken. God is love. What lust has joined together, will break.
