And I'd like to have it without the possibility of someone who doesn't like what I say having the ability to have my question or answer deleted. Personally, I'm tired of trolls rummaging through my Q&A looking for anything they can find in an attempt to have my account deleted. I'm also tired of seeing my friends deleted because certain people can't deal with the perspectives they bring to the forum.
Am I the only one that feels this way? Is there anyone else that would like to have an actual discussion about theology, where you can post multiple times to the same thread in order to respond to other posts? What do you think about Google's site: http://groups.google.com/group/Atheism-vs-Christianity ?
It's not as flashy, but at least you can have an actual conversation. I'm thinking about converting from Religion & Spirituality to Atheism vs. Christianity. What are your thoughts?

Father K, I didn't create the forum, I just found it by looking at Google's website. Personally, I think that's a little limiting as there are far more perspectives than just Christianity and Atheism, but I do like the fact that you can have an actual discussion without your post being deleted.
p.s. For those that say "if you don't say anything rude you don't have anything to worry about," for the most part I try not to insult people with my posts, and that isn't the reason most of my posts get reported. Most of my posts that get deleted are the ones where I take the Jewish perspective and compare it to Christian ideology. When I point out why Jews are biblically correct for not accepting or believing in a savior, and pointing to what they've always believed were the prophecies that actually identify what their messiah would be and do while on Earth. Those are the ones that get reported and deleted. Can you tell me why?

Impeyan Link, this is my first and only account, and I'm one of the ones that considers the viewpoint of other religions as just as valid as any other. It's people like you that make people like me want to leave this forum, but thank your for identifying yourself, I'll be sure to avoid you in the future.

I am lucky enough to have the oppertunity to talk to several different religions and find out how they believe and what they think.
Without being in a huge fight.

someone that puts into words what I have felt. I don't mind a good discussion--I realize that there are those that will disagree with me and that is fine when it is done in a way that is not ugly or condescending. I will give my point of view and attempt to show/explain why I believe that way. And I expect others to do the same thing--but not be tactless & condescending. I realize that there are some people that do not have the where with all to carry on an intelligent discussion--verbally or written--because they don't use their brains to think and give an answer for why they may believe the way they do. They allow someone else to think for them and tell them what to say. If someone believes differently and can show why--then these people are like kids--they stomp their feet, pick up their toys and go home
I am assuming that there are atheist/agnostics out there that are intelligent people--while I disagree with them - it is nice to carry on a discussion with them. Makes me have to prove why I believe the way I do.
I checked out the web site--it did look interesting but I don't know if it is for me. But I can always go back & check it out. Some times I know that something may come off as rude that maybe the writer didn't mean for it to be rude. But sometimes you can tell that if you read the whole question/answer. Than there are times that it is meant to be rude and can tell it

It's unfortunate that a few people seem to take it upon themselves to be the personal morality monitors for a forum such as this one. Sure there are people who do not seem to be able to have a reasonable conversation with someone who doesn't agree with their viewpoint...and go on a proverbial witch hunt; however, I appreciate counterpoints to my opinions, since it's merely my own. BTW: Christianity does not 'own' this forum...there are many of us in here who do not consider themselves to be Christians...nor Atheists.

I agree with you, but with all due respect, this works both ways. I got a violation notice for saying that I was blessed in many ways.
What the heck is wrong with that?
Thank you for the link! It was very kind of you to post.
I may not agree with your views, but I have never seen you be disrespectful. You have not mocked or ridiculed me for being a Christian. I appreciate it.

You're an awefully long winded variety of troll.
If you asked questions instead of calling Wiccans fat and ugly teenagers on a regular basis your accounts would probably last longer here.
I don't report people unless they post porn, but I do feel like I have wasted a moment of my life everytime I read one of your questions.
You don't want a discussion you want to insult people and be jeered on, good luck finding enough of that to keep you happy.
Edit:
So I must be mistaken, it must be someone with the same avatar, that is equally longwinded and makes a point of insulting people.
Avoid "people like me" if you want, I only told you how I see it. Obviously you never were interested in conflicting opinions to begin with.

I personally don't care what box you have put yourself into. I don't believe any mortal can set in judgement of another man, and that includes you. Let the ego fest begin!

Everybody should have the right to put their opinion across in the most intelligent way possible and be opened minded towards other peoples views. If they can't, they shouldn't be here.

I enjoy discussions but I am a bit confused why Atheists feel the need to discuss theology. To me it would seem that such discussion would be of little use to someone who has already dismissed the entire concept of God.
But if you feel you benefit from the exercise, the more power to you.

I'm involved in several such discussion groups. The title of yours is a turn off. When you use the term "versus" you set up an adversarial atmosphere, and that does not sound much like a "discussion" - it sounds more like warfare.
I'll pass.

Talk is Cheap! Everybody tries to manipulate other people's thinking. Even me. But where most try to manipluate our thinking to have control over us. I try to manipulate people's thinking, so they can have more control over Themselves.
