This is an excellent idea. Yet I see so many people judging Wiccans and Pagans these days based on what others claim to "know" about them. I myself have been a Pagan since birth, and experimented with Christianity when I was about ten. I found it nausiatingly horrible and wrong in every aspect of the Mother Earth. I hold no grudge against it, and have no problems with those who are, but I personally found it strict, uptight, and rahter annoying. Wiccan is a magnifiscent and beautiful religion and though there is no wrong or right way to go about being one, I hope you make the right choice and don't listen to those who put down a religion just because it's differant.

Choosing a faith path is a personal decision. It is one that needs to be done with pure intent. If you are feeling a calling to Wicca, there are plenty of books on the subject. I am not sure what you are feeling the need to ask to "strict Christians". I have a wide knowledge base on faith walks and from my experience it sounds like you are either unsure of your choice.. or you are trying to make waves. I would caution you against trying to get a rise or trying to convert the "strict Christians". So lets assume you aren't 100% sure of your decision, if it is the right fit for you. I would suggest that you ask not only Christians, but various other person from different faith walks what about there faith walk really speaks to them. Then you will have more knowledge of different walks, which is guide your way into a path of your own, maybe that path wont be wicca maybe it will be. If it is.. the learning that you will aquire by respectfully asking people of different faith paths will give you foundation of acceptance to the different wiccan paths. Cheers, Ame

I'm not sure what I'd ask strict Christians, or what exactly you mean by the term. I do know of people that have been involved in wiccan practices and I'd advise that you stay away. Be aware that things are not always as they seem and that you're playing with some powerful influences, I've heard of people and their families and friends who've experienced nightmares, insommnia, illness and all kinds of mental, physical and emotional stress. Not to mention that there are some pretty nasty people in wiccan circles.

Your intentions may be good but the long term reprocussions are not and I honestly think you're endangering yourself and those close to you.

Do you mean about the negative attitudes you could face?
to be honest the opinion varies enormously fro christian to christain.

I know some who follow the good samaritan principle of compassion to all humans and respect their right to their beliefs. I know others who hate it with a passion because of the biblical line in the king james version of the bible "though shalt not suffer a witch to live".

there is still a lot of misconception about wicca confusing it with satanism which couldn't be further from reality

Almost all the wiccan's I know (and they vary in theological aspects significantly) keep it a secret from society due to christian's around them.

I've even experienced prejudiced first hand from Christians just for being a Buddhist. I've had glairs, loud hymns sang at me, desperate please to save my soul and people walk out of the room in disgust because I'm a Buddhist.

I stress this is probably the minority and I hope you don't experience any discrimination or prejudiced for following your own faith, just wanted to prepare you for the worst case scenario

if it's just information you want about what being a wiccan means it's really varied and you should do a lot of research into it. Ask yourself what motivates you to become wiccan - are you drawn to living in balance with the earth or are you looking for power? As wicca is about the former not the latter

If you want to become a wiccan why would you want to ask strict Christians (like me) questions? And what would your intentions be in asking Christians (like me) questions that you would want to keep secret the intentions? How strange you wiccans are to keep so much secret. Motivation when asking questions is always very interesting.

OK I just read your other question. I would my self as a Christian not attend an Alpha course. I would advice you to take your Bible and pray asking the Father to give you a revelation of truth in him. Then read the Gospel of John. After that I would then look for the Church to ask questions of mature Christians. I wouldn't do the Alpha course.

Hiding your intententions is lying. Period. and it gives the rest of us a bad rep. If you are really interested I and anyone else will tell you to read as much as possible, study take notes and get acquainted with the religion. If you are still interested after all of that think about sitting in on a group. witchvox.com is an excellent resource for finding shops events and groups in your area. Please use caution when asking questions, most christians are not familiar with the wiccan faith so it stands to reason that they won't know much about us. If you do feel the need to question please proceed with caution and make sure that this is a path that you truely want to follow.

Speaking, seriously, as a Wiccan, why would you ask a Christian about Wicca?

Look at the Christian answers you have. Clearly, Christians think Wicca is about doing magic and other silly stuff....

Why not ask a WICCAN?

I'm not sure why you would want to ask Christians about Wicca to begin with. If you want to learn about Wicca, you should ask Wiccans. Just like if you want to learn about how a car works, you ask a mechanic and not a doctor. If I knew more about the questions you were wanting to ask, I might be able to be more helpful, sorry.

"We Christians are not afraid of Wicca, of the spells or the incantations, have not been wronged by any Wiccan's, and we do not believe that you purposefully worship Satan"

How nieve you are to think we worship satin. quit trying to turn her to your religion. i think if want to be wiccan, leave christians out of it, because they will only try to coax you to christianity. ask a wiccan or go out and buy a book on wicca. (there is a school for wicca in west virginia and st loius mo, if its not to far for you.) whatever your choice, i hope you feel comfortable with it. and always remember the wiccan reed\
"if it harm none, do what thou wilt"

Blessed Be
