From skins of a cleansed animal the scribes started to record their history in what is called the Old Testament from about 600 BCE.

Since then how many times has the old Testament been copied and re-written into what we can take as the gospel truth of what God has delivered to the living during the last 2,600 years.

Even if humans had walked the earth for a million years prior to this time, we suddenly changed a lot.

Whether you believe in evolution or creation what accounts for this sudden change in humans?

What is not appropriate ie. monsters, skeletons, witches? Christian haters and pedophiles don't need to respond. The Satanic daycare didn't have any openings.

Okay, so the Mayans "predicted" the end of the world would be December 21st, 2012. (Or maybe their demise just came before they could finish off the calendar?) And then I know there's some junk about the I-Ching. But what I want to know about is if the north and south poles inside of the Earth will switch or not... or maybe if a huge solar eclipse will ruin us.

If the poles did switch, what would happen? Would it happen exactly on that date, or happen over a period of hours, days, months? What's the chance of the poles switching? If the poles didn't switch, what would happen instead, if anything?

And, lastly, do you believe that 12/21/'12 is the end of the world as we know it?

Thanks to all who answer.

When I pray to the Mother of God, I am simply asking Her favor. When I bow down to Her statute, I am simply recognizing the fact She was full of grace and born without sin. She is our co-redeptrix, the Second Eve as Jesus is the Second Adam. Where Eve said "no" Mary says "yes."

Mary, like Enoch and Elisha, knew not death because she walked with God. Mary is full of grace, but protestants would have us believe She is no different than Hitlers or Luther or Calvin or Arminius or Wesly...

It's shame...

I have noticed that my 5-year-old son likes girly things!
He likes those damn Judy Garland slippers at Target.
He wants floral prints on his shirt.
He rolls his eyes in the Gay way!
He even runs like a sissy!

Our older son, who is 6, is all man!
He likes sports and refuses to wear floral prints and unless it’s blue or red he won’t put it on.
He is aggressive and competitive and fights with anyone who gets in his way.
He loves the movies Cars and Everyone’s Hero and Robin Hood.

The 5-year-old would rather watch Pocahontas or Little Mermaid!
What do you think?
Can I change his habits?
I am worried that our newborn will emulate this behavior, as he grows older!
How do I make him understand that his choices affect the whole family and reflect on my parenting in general?
Should I beat him?

How did this happen?
It is unnatural right?

Please help…I don’t understand where I went wrong.
How can we make our 6-year-old more like our 5-year-old?

I guess we all know if you care to much you'll hurt for it. And hopefully most of you haven't learned that not caring can create problems also.

Where is the middle ground between too much and too little?

Why do Catholics confess sins to a Man, and make the priest the mediator, when the word of God clearly says that the only Mediator between God and man is Jesus Christ.

Are they just being ignorant of the Bible? What would it take to open their blind eyes?

Why do Catholics think everyone is picking on them, when we are just stating what the word of God says.

Catholics, why not just use the word of God? Who has such a stonghold on you you can't stand the Word of God?

I would love to get an as accurate as possible translation of "Write to make sense of life."

I've asked an old English prof of mine (who just happens to know things like this), and he gave me this:

"Scribere vitam intelligere est. 'To write is to understand life.'
I'm surer of this simple formulation than I would be trying to write an imperative and construct a purpose clause that, as I recall, involves some peculiarity with the verb--a use of the subjunctive or an alteration of tenses."

If by any chance anyone here can add (or subtract) to this definition, (or tell me where I can go to find someone who can!), I'd greatly appreciate it. And my prof was right; what I really want to get across is this: "One must write in order to understand life" -- so I think the purpose clause ("ut") that he mentions is necessary. Don't you??
