I have problems with religion, as do many, but I still choose to be a part of it and have God, simply because I believe in a God.

However 1) by nature and by birth I was more attracted to men. If this disguists people, I don't want them to tell me that I'm going to burn in hell.

Why do people have a problem with gay/bi people in religion?

Does the bible say we cannot LOVE another man? I know it says bad things about "sex" and fornication, but what about feelings and treating another person REGARDLESS of gender with love?

Is this not sexism? The bible is promoting sexism, AND homophobia, how's that for a civil rights setback?

I also came across a flyer in my church that said, "are you struggling with a same sex addiction?"

Can you believe this?

ADDICTION!?!?

Since when is having feelings for someone an addiction?

The mayor of Atlantic City, NJ killed himself recently for charges on sex with a minor, GIRL. Straight guy, addiction, its not just gays!

We are talking about a "miracle working son of god" so don't bother comparing his historicity to any other historical figure.

Consider the following list. These are the historians and writers who DID live within Christ's alleged lifetime or within a very short period after his death, yet not a one of them mentio jesus, his "miracles", his birth or ressurection.

Apollonius Persius
Appian Petronius
Arrian Phaedrus
Aulus Gellius Philo-Judaeus
Columella Phlegon
Damis Pliny the Elder
Dio Chrysostom Pliny the Younger
Dion Pruseus Plutarch
Epictetus Pompon Mela
Favorinus Ptolemy
Florus Lucius Quintilian
Hermogones Quintius Curtius
Josephus Seneca
Justus of Tiberius Silius Italicus
Juvenal Statius
Lucanus Suetonius
Lucian Tacitus
Lysias Theon of Smyran
Martial Valerius Flaccus
Paterculus Valerius Maximus

to respect diversity and others no matter of their orientation that all changed. Before this change in thinking my friends and I used to make fun of this girl who we thought was less femme than us. We started to hate up on her and make super bad comments about her as a dike. The sad part was this girl thought we were her friends so she would try to hang out with us. We would all decide to not pick up her phone calls and not invite her anywhere. This girl ended up going to college with us and our behavior continued. I realized what I was doing was wrong but i went with the crowd. Occasionally i would hang out with her and one night i invited her to sleep over. At that time she hinted that she was not straight. She didnt confess but said stuff that strongly supported her gay orientation. She also said that she loved having me as a friend and i was one of the few ppl that understood her. This made me feel guilty and i was kind grossed out. I told my friends the next day and they of course

I am 28, and I love my time alone. I live with my boyfriend, who's a social butterfly, so he's often chatting on the phone with pals and going out once in awhile for drinks. We do go out to dinner quite a bit, etc., but I just do not have a desire to party with my friends often or even hang out all the time. I probably go to lunch with friends 1-2X a week, and we go out as a couple on the weekends. I love to read, watch TV, play with my labs and write. Am I a total social freak? lol Just curious ...

Creationists say that they do that. Scientists, except the minority that are also creationist, don't accept it. I don't accept it either. Fine, but we should continue to try. Religious people should try to unify their belief with science, not just have it together with science as if there was two distinct ultimate realities: God on the religious side and the laws of nature on the science side. In the same way, scientists should realize that the laws of nature aren't just something outside us only accessible through external devices.

There is an obvious link between these two realities. Our brain is a tool to take full advantage of these laws of nature through an efficient technique of meditation. This is currently explored within science. Any experience related to God, in any form, must be an expression of the laws of nature. It is not a peculiar unification. It is not at all a diminution of God. It is a better appreciation of the laws of nature. It's the same.

I'm a very polite guy, and I expect all the people I meet to be the same.

But we all know that's far from the true. I'd say out of every 10 people I meet, at least 3 of them are rude.

I always end up resenting those people and wouldn't want to be anywhere near them.

Do you think I'm way too judgmental and that I should lighten up and realize the bare fact that not everyone shares the same values as I?
