(please, serious answers only!)

I'm 17, I've been a christian for about 8 months and I go to a Baptist church. I've seen two other friends getting baptised and knew I would do it one day.

The problem is I've been battling with my faith and I really want to believe but I'm finding it alot to grasp lately. I'm guessing I should be completely certain before taking that step.

Why is baptism such a big deal? Does it change you at all, or bring you closer to God?

Also, whats the deal with being baptised of the Holy Spirit?

If you look at any of the dating sites for gay men. Alot of the adds tend to have guys seeking guys who are straight acting. Some even say that the find camp gay guys really annoying and just can't stand thme.

Personlly it really doenst matter to me, if i like a guy enough I will like him not based on his mannerisms but more on his personality and his looks as well.

What is the general opinion about this.

This is not an opinion question, it is a polling question == judgements not allowed:

For those with children, do you:

Take your children only to community holloween events,

To neighbors that you know,

To any house with a light on?

What do you do for your kids on this Holloween night

just like genesis 1 and genesis 2 are so different. I found the book of job so different. it starts with a tempo of fairy tale. "there was a man named job who lived in the land of Uz." there is no genealogy. the entire arguments between job and three friends are like job against satan. is this book figurative? what does job represent? what do those three friends symbolize?

Many enjoy criticizing those who pray the Rosary and similar traditional prayers, claiming that there is something intrinsicaly wrong with repetetive prayer, and they base this solely on one new testament passage that refers only to the practices of pagans, who pray to false gods.

This passage from Revelation seems to indicate that God appeciates and even mandates repetetive prayer:

Rev 4:6 And before the throne [there was] a sea of glass like unto crystal: and in the midst of the throne, and round about the throne, [were] four beasts full of eyes before and behind.
Rev 4:7 And the first beast [was] like a lion, and the second beast like a calf, and the third beast had a face as a man, and the fourth beast [was] like a flying eagle.
Rev 4:8 And the four beasts had each of them six wings about [him]; and [they were] full of eyes within: and they rest not day and night, saying, Holy, holy, holy, Lord God Almighty, which was, and is, and is to come.

What do you think?

from even looking at any theories of evoloution.

If Darwin is not just a theory , then Christians have a lot more to loose, they loose their reason to live and die - Is it simply too personal for them to consider objectively. I doubt that many would even dare to examine M-theory at all, it is far easier to stay at the edge of the pond and poke fun at Darwin, than to jump in and examine the real depths. But if you consider Darwin with any objectivity, then you are breaking you own created rule of gambling?
