In all my years doing genealogy I've never run across any vital record showing that they existed on this earth and the bible, being a book that has little actual evidence supporting it, does not constitute proof.

Alright everyone, this is turning QUITE messy.

First off, she didn't say she could prove god didn't exist. I've not heard her say that once. You guys are the ones that are being asked the question "Can you prove God exists, or if adam and eve ever existed once upon a time?" So stop telling her what she already knows! Either take a shot at trying to prove it, or don't and simply ignore the question!

Secondly, in addition to my last statement, if you're not going to try, don't say anything. Several of the posts say "I don't have to prove to you he exists, because I KNOW he exists!!! Because were having cups of tea in the home I call my soul!", or "I can't prove he exists, but I don't have to! Because I KNOW he exists!!! Because were having crumpets and biscuits in the home I call my soul!" The god you guys created has the power to smite people for a reason! And before you give me any of that "But thats killing the person! And killing is bad!" keep in mind that a) we lost count as to how many religious crusades happened in the Middle Ages, and b) God also happens to have the power of Resurrection, seeing as how it is Jesus was able to supposedly walk the earth again in three days time!

I believe you guys also said that he has the power to create miracles, yes? Use that prayer hotline you have to stop the famine, terrorism, global warming, and any other things thats wrong with the world. I'm sure if its something worldwide, everyone will see and believe, alright? Also, before you give me any of that "prayer and action" cr*p, keep in mind that if "God helps those who help themselves", then we would simply have no need to create such a fantasy.

Good luck, and try to not piss me (or people like Kris) anymore than I already have been.

Prove that God does not exist, or Adam and Eve. That is equally as hard isn't it.

Proof that is presentable in a court of law evades both of us.
Remember, even the great 'Monkey Trial' did not prove that God does not exist.

What we do know is the Old Testament predicts 1200 years in advance many of the things that are in the New Testament. Think about that, The Jewish scriptures predicted many of the things that were fulfilled in the Christian scriptures.

I believe this: If there were no God, the moral values taught in the scriptures make the Bible an important book by which to live. It teaches us not to murder, or steal, or have sex with another man's wife, or envy what someone else has.

Man, you believe in something just because you can't prove the other is correct. I believe in God/Allah because He's there.

I read about your Evolution theory. Right now, after about 10 days of reading about it, I've got many clues to show it's wrong:
- In an organism, there is a specific number of chromosomes making it unique and it's the same number of chromosomes in its son, grandson, parent, grandparent, etc. And that means that even if mutation occurs in reproductive cells, the number of chromosomes will keep the same, God willing, which means the creature is still the same kind of its parent.

-SUPPOSE that creatures were not created (they were), how on Earth did the first one exist? Do you want to say that cells started by chance. OK, try it... do whatever you think is necessary to create a cell which is alive and create one... is it alive? No... cut me into 300 pieces if yes. This means that there is something missing. It's spirit. No creature can create spirits, meaning the creator is not like us. It's God, who can o whatever he wills.

-Mutation don't happen as a form of adapting. I never heard about a Cacao plant which made children growing in cold areas because it was in Russia! Maybe, a mutation would make a son worse in the environment than the father, not the opposite.

(I have some other clues. Maybe I may post them to googlepages and then link to them from my QA page.)

I'm an atheist, but I can prove God exists.
Watch and prepare to be dazzled:
If you look at causality in its grandness, you must appreciate the reality of cause and effect, and every action is caused by the collection of preceeding actions. There had to be a prima causa. The first cause. That cause could be nothing but God, no matter what it is. Because God by definition is that which gave us life. So no matter how you look at what that first cause was, it -was- God.
Step 2: The world is incredibly rational, isn't it? It seems to make so much sense after you analyze the laws of nature. Could anything not reasonable develop such laws? Of course not, there had to be some sort of sapient guidance. So we've established that the first cause had to be God, because it started everything, and it had to be intelligent, because the universe is intelligent. What more proof do you need?
There definitely is a God, of sorts, but it's not like any of us imagine. It doesn't tally up good and bad deeds, it doesn't do anything, it just was or is, and continues to just exist in a sense of one of Plato's forms.
So yes. I can prove God exists.

Edit: Then rebut my claim. The assumption you're alluding to is that "it must be intelligent because the laws of the universe are intelligent." But that's not an assumption, it's 100% true.
Look. How could something so ideal for the conditions of life be some ugly unintelligent mess? Explain the 11th dimension and what happens there (M Theory) Branes made a quantum leap and smashed together causing the Big Bang. But that proves that the laws that govern subatomic particles also govern what is beyond this universe. And for there to be laws outside of this universe, there has to be other things out there. Whatever made those laws is the God of this Universe. It probably isn't responsible for everything, and it probably isn't even aware of our existence, but it's there.

Its called Faith, you cant prove he does not exist.Christians believe the bible to be the source of what they believe. We do believe in detail the story of Adam and Eve,you are not the first person to think we are ignorant fools. It makes no difference really to us what others think only what our creator God thinks.

Utterly immaterial to salvation.

But scientifically it IS possible. Genetic anthropologists have narrowed the search for the first true humans to a small area in the Rift Valley and to a time frame of about 60,000 years ago. Mitochondrial DNA was innately germane to this process.

It would appear that it was EVE who came first and her son would therefore be Adam, since mitochondrial DNA is passed ONLY through the female. Males are carriers but cannot pass it on. And the mitochondrial DNA we all share today appears first in that area and at that time.

One can not prove God's existence one way or the other. The finite cannot hope to comprehend the infinite. There just isn't room in our little heads for that much data to be processed with any certainty. Keeps it interesting, exciting, and totally unpredictable; all the finest qualities of any fantasy role playing game... So, perhaps life is simply God's fantasy role playing game, with Him as the Game Moderator... or perhaps, He simply allows the game to unfold without interferance once He has set the basic 'rules', i.e., 'laws of physics'. It's all a matter of resource management in any case.

You should watch the movie - The Man Who Sued God -. It will not prove anything but it makes for good thinking. Even though it was comedy. Can you prove Allah, Buddah, or George Bush are real also

Proof would be nice of something but like the other guy said....they are going to quote the bible at you left and right, I wonder is there any other historical evidence other than the bible from that time period to back it up?
