Should I trust the visions of God that I saw those nights several years ago?

It's just that several responses to an earlier question seemed to deny that this thing could have happened to Moses, Abraham, and all the others in the Bible. They would have at one time or other eaten psychotrophic plants, moulds and fungi.

What should I do? Ignore it and put it down to hallucination?

By extending this he also gave us the scientists that invented dating techniques which show the earth to millions of years old.

People seem to rely on the fact that when dating techniques first came out they were not very accurate. Since then their accuracy has been refined to such a point that independent labs confirm like for fossil dates to within a few thousand years.

Why do creationists and Christians still cling to this original argument and fail to accept that dating techniques have now been validated and proven to work? The earth is millions of years old. Get over it and move on!

Theists are fond of saying that if there is no god then we ought to be out stealing, raping, murdering and torturing each other... but clearly we could never have got to the kind of civilisation we live in if that was our nature. If we were like that then we could never co-operate, work as teams, support each other, be compassionate, give up short term gratification for long term gains etc. - all the things that allow us to live in a complex tight-knit society. We've obviously evolved to be this way because it's an enormously successful survival strategy - an excellent way of passing on our genes. Why then do theists think we would want to reject human nature and behave in the ways they describe? It makes no sense. But then, I'm firmly of the view that there is absolutely nothing in religion that makes any sense at all. If there is, I've yet to see it, in 40-odd years of observing it.

What sort of Father will sacrifice and/or forsake his son?

Law: I will forget you and I will forsake you: Jeremiah 23:39
Grace: I will never leave you nor forsake you: Hebrews 13:5

David: My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me?

Forsaken? Isn't this how PTSD-ers now feel?

Will of God? "I will have mercy, and not sacrifice".
Perhaps it meaneth I will have grace, and not law.

I have seen several posts on here relating to christians answering questions on sex, most of the answers seem to be "I pray for you" and "you need jesus", I find this truly insulting and judgemental although surely the bible teaches that only God should judge. Why do christians feel the need to look at the questionnes relating to sex and give such a pointless answer. Surely it dosent really matter if a person decides to have sex outside of marriage. I don't wish to offend but would like to know why this is so important to the religion.
