While there are organizations that atheists can join, they are not an organized group. They are individuals who have decided that there is no god. I think for many people, Madalyn Murray O'Hare comes to mind but she was murdered several years ago. And if I were an atheist, I would not want to be associated with her anyway. She was a bitter, nasty woman.

Atheists are not an organization, they are not a religion or a church. They are simply individuals that do not believe that any supreme being exists.
Understand this and understand it well, outside of the Church not everything is a religion nor is it about your beliefs.

We don't have a central organization because we do not have a codified belief structure.
To be an atheist is one thing only: there is no deity of any kind.
Everything, literally EVERYTHING, other than that is up to the individual atheist, including things like ghosts, ESP, astrology, evolution, Big Bang/Inflation, etc...

Loco really is loco. I've been fired from a job when it was learned I was an atheist. As we expect believers to not haul theirs into the workplace, we don't haul our non-belief in, either.
