So my Question is Why would Walter M ADMIT something "SO DAMAGING" to HIS OWN Strongly Held Beliefs ? ? ?

to this day, sometimes at night, i'm very afraid to get out of my bed. i think there is a boogey man hiding underneath it, or in the bathroom. i know that there isn't anything actually there, but i can't keep myself from thinking that there just might be. i even get this feeling after watching a scary movie sometimes.

is this what it's like to be christian? (only in a pleasant way instead of scary) you just "feel" that god is real? if so, is that a valid reason to actually believe that he truly exists?

Long story short: I am an American immigrating to Sweden and will be attending an English speaking Anglican church. I know they use NRSV. I am looking for 1) a study bible in NRSV including the apocrypha; 2) a 'women's bible' that focuses on relationships. Any suggestions? I am from a protestant/evanglical KJV/NKJV background. Much about Anglicanism and the church year is new to me.

The only complexions mentioned in the bible are white and black, both in Song of Solomon. Since whites don't become black from the sun, but tan, it is clear they are the only two races mentioned by color. So, why so sure Jesus was not black?

Wouldn't it be fun if you christians spent HALF the time you spend wishing and praying for the 'apocalypse', on something constructive and helpful?

we have no soul or a spirit that is within us.If that is what you believe then I would love to here why you think of yourselves as any different than the animals that roam the earth.There is only one thing in my opinion as to why we are refered to as a human being ,instead of a animal.It is because we are the the only ones with sin ,that is why jesus died for us ,It is because we have a soul a spirit you cannot see it but most don't have to see it to know that is what makes us human different than all the rest.Some don't have to see God to know he is the spirit I am talking about.If I am wrong can any of you tell me the sicientific reason we are different?

This is something I've wondered about for a long time. It's often seemed to me that people of a particular ethnic group had a particular scent to them; and while sometimes I can understand where it comes from (say, exotic spices from the cuisine of their homeland, or maybe chemicals used to straighten curly hair), but with some groups it defies easy explanation. I find myself wondering if the level of skin pigment or whatever could have a noticeable effect on the smell of their skin...

Am I the only one who's experienced this? And can any non-Caucasians out there tell me -- do white people also have a particular scent to them?

Serious answers only, please -- let's not turn this into an opportunity to insult or bash people of a particular race.

I figured that was the end of it, but now there is a Theater group who spent $95,000 dollars on a full page ad in USA today asking everyone to sign some kid of petition which you can find here.
