I use the term Christian loosely. so many people use it for what...to condemn people, to judge....to send people to hell! i do beleive in jesus christ and I do follow the example set by Jesus in the bible, but if someone does not agree, why do i need to make it a point to make sure she know she's wrong! i love kathy griffin and sometimes her comments are a bit... well, you know.
sometimes i see 'christians' as that one student in class who tries so hard to impress the teacher by belittling the other students. i just can't stand people like. just because one points out another's 'mistakes', doesn't mean you are going ot get a jacuzzi in your mansion in heaven. the bible says,
"why point out the speck in another eye, when you have a log sticking out of yours". i just say, love everybody, whether they believe in christ or not. that's what christ did, Christ befriended all, doubters, sinners, prostitutes...come on people! GET IT TOGETHER!
WE ARE NOT JESUS! WE DO NOT SAVE! WE DO NOT CONDEMN...WE ARE TO LEAD OTHER TO CHRIST...

I didn't watch the show so I knew nothing about the statement until now.
I mean come folks,it's Kathy Griffin!
I understand that the forum she used may not have seemed appropriate for her statement.
And it's always an uncomfortable situation when someone states an opinion as if it's fact.('God had nothing to do with this award."? So what if someone was praying for the award and got it?)
But creating a hubbub over such an insignificant rant really gives it more credence than it deserves.
It should have been a nice discussion topic around the water cooler, along with who was eliminated from the big brother house or something but not much more.
I mean come on,it's Kathy Griffin, for goodness sakes!.

I agree with you. There really won't be much proven if they got 10 million signatures on this petition. There's really very little point to it. I may not agree with what Kathy Griffin said, and I'm not positive that she didn't say it to just make someone drop their jaw. She comes across as that type of person. She comes across to me as someone that would say something JUST to get a reaction. I don't think she's sorry for what she said at all. This is the same woman that told Larry King she had a threesome with her emmy. And, yes, you are right, God will deal with it in his own time. However, this TV network won't have a sayso in what God does. That's for sure. The whole thing is silly to me.

No i do no longer agree. I hate Kathy Griffin, yet she has a perfect to assert what she needs. The fu***ing church is stressful an apology from the community & Kathy, that's bullcrap. i'm getting incredibly bored with how our u . s . a . interior the final 10 years has grow to be an apologetic, wussed out version of that is former self. it continually seems that the smallest team has the loudest voice. & fairly of asserting "nicely that is your opinion. Sorry we are no longer likely to alter this u . s . a . in user-friendly terms for you few. you ought to income to evolve" we are saying "OH GOD!!! we are sorry, Please do no longer sue us, merely considering you do not have self assurance interior the liberty OF SPEECH!" that is all crap. & human beings ask your self why we are being targetted by the fewer efficient countries perfect now. that is not significant if we are the main efficient rattling u . s . a . interior the international earth or no longer. If we take a seat there & permit human beings in our u . s . a . bully us & kick us all around we can be a rustic divided. & that is as quickly as we are attacked.

The Miracle Mile group is trying to untie their panties from the hopeless knot they've tied them into, while trying to find a way to feel really, really good about their otherwise dull and empty lives in their futile attemp to disprove rumors that a God as mighty and powerful as theirs might just be advanced enough to house something as basic as a sense of humor beneath is wispy golden robes. (I think that they underestimate Him.) Regarding judgment, God--like nearly all americans-- probably has a lot of more interesting things to do than watch the Emmys.

I think people are totally misinterpreting Griffin's comments. She was not so much slamming God as she was drawing attention to the shallowness and hypocrisy of others who had gotten up there and said they thanked God...because it was the expected thing to do...NOT because they meant it. When you look at the lifestyle of these celebrities, you are hard-pressed to find anyone who is coming anywhere near reflecting a god-like behavior or belief system.

It is interesting that they are saying:
It is time for people of faith around the country to stand firm against religious slander, bias, and bigotry of all types including Christianity!
When the play that they are putting on - claiming that Jesus was the Messiah - is religious slander and bigotry against Jews, Muslims, Hindus, and basically a majority of the world's population.
Pot, meet kettle. LOL

She's loving all of the attention. You think she didn't realize it'd get her a lot of press? Idiots are falling right into her trap. What I always loved are these people who get up their with their boobs half out of their dress, rumors in every rag that they're sleeping with this person or that person, doing drugs, etc., and they thank god for their award. Yeah, compared to those types, Kathy deserves punishment. Uh huh.

I'd rather them sign some meaningless petition than go rampaging through the streets, like another group we're fondly familiar with.
