Just because something is offensive, doesn't make it less true. It is true that the average JW can run circles around the average Christian.
JW's definitely know the whats and whys of their belief system. Most Christians do not. While this is tragic, it is also true.

The late great Walter Martin was right because most Christians do not study the Bible enough nor do they study the enemies of Christ, such as the J.Ws,Mormons etc. Therefore when they show up on their doorstep, they are not prepared to argue and are either stumped or frustrated.

The only thing that I see that JWs know what will happen with this`planet after Armageddon but the majority of Christianity don´t have the knowledge of what are going to be the things that Jesus will do during his 1000 years kingdom in earth.
by the way something as simple as what date Jesus died? is like a misterious information and all JWs know that by heart.

the Bible warned us in Matthew 7:15"BE on the watch for false prophet that come to you in covering of a sheep, but inside they are ravenous wolves". Not everything we hear is true but everything in the Bible is truth!!!!
I know this is not the answer of your Q. but as one of JWs I wont believe what ever Walter Martin says, writes and so..... for us we found the truth from the Bible.......

Because JWs on the whole "know" their Bible better than the average Christian.
However, a child with the faith (in the all-sufficient sacrifice of Jesus Christ for his sins) of a mustard seed, can run circles around ANY doctrinaire Jehovah's Witness when the Day of Judgment arrives. He will be acquitted, whereas the self-righteous JW will go to Hell, a Christ-less eternity that, by definition, will never end.
Then we will see who is running circles around whom!!
EDIT...
To Niezyl: the Bible warned us in Matthew 7:15"BE on the watch for false prophet that come to you in covering of a sheep, but inside they are ravenous wolves". I heed this advice every day!

Bc no matter his personal views...
about J's Christian W's
it was the truth of the matter.
Apparently, in his quest to go against J's Christian W's
he found out something positive along the way.
Praise JAH you ppl!
Edit: As w/ what Jason W said when
I started studying w/ the Witnesses,
I too learned alot, in a very short amount of time.
1 of my friends from work and I sat up talking
til the break of dawn, and she & I had been friends
for about 6 yrs @ the time.
She commented on how much I had learned;
about the Bible & the Kingdom of God.
Also, 'how' & how much I changed.
I was different she said.
And it was good changes, she added.

Being trained from childhood on how to respond to criticism to the beliefs of the JW's does not make one biblically correct. I would contend that instead it makes one a trained performer.

When I became an unbaptized publisher I was reasoning with a man from his own Bible and he complemented me on how well I knew the scriptures.
I asked him how long do you think I have been studying the Bible with Jehovah's Witnesses? He said for many years.
I told him that I had only been studying the bible for a couple of months !!!
He was truly amazed.
We will study with anyone, using their own Bible translation that they feel comfortable using.
We are humble and we don't try to win battles with people. We are just trying to lead people to Jehovah God and his Son Jesus Christ.
People would be amazed if they just accepted a free home bible study at how much they would learn in just a short time.
Even in this troubled world, you can gain happiness from accurate Bible knowledge of God, his Kingdom, and his wonderful purpose for mankind.

Frankly, I am not interested in Walter Martins opinions, positive or negative, about my religion. (Note Acts 16:16-18) He is a totally unreliable source.

I would say most JW do know their religion far better than the average Christian - they are forced to defend it far more often.
