we have no soul or a spirit that is within us.If that is what you believe then I would love to here why you think of yourselves as any different than the animals that roam the earth. There is only one thing in my opinion as to why we are refered to as a human being ,instead of a animal. It is because we are the the only ones with sin ,that is why jesus died for us ,It is because we have a soul a spirit you cannot see it but most don't have to see it to know that is what makes us human different than all the rest. Some don't have to see God to know he is the spirit I am talking about. If I am wrong can any of you tell me the sicientific reason we are different?

We are not so different as you make us out to be. It is Genesis that asserts mankind is above the animals, but last I checked.. homo sapiens falls into the animal kingdom.

Now, can you tell me the scientific basis for asserting we have a soul?

Aristotle said the soul is the function of the form. What this means is, the functions of bodily organs (independently or in concert) ARE your soul. Hence, animals have souls. In fact, all living things have souls. The soul of a plant is photosynthesis (it's function).

What really distinguishes humans from animals is hard. The only thing I can think of is written language.

The only thing that separates me from the other animals is my brain. And that doesn't mean another animal won't someday evolve a better brain of its own. It certainly is possible.

I am proud to be a part of the animal kingdom. In fact, I think we 'humans' give animals a bad name - I'm sure they would rather we weren't part of their world.

Other than some of us having major superiority complexes and amazingly large egos, we are no different from any other animal species. "Sin" makes no difference as there is no such thing. That is your self-imposed burden.
