I'm a 25 yr-old lesbian, I see this girl every week when I go shopping, she works there and it seems that we are always looking at eachother. Like I'll glance over and find she was already staring at me. We've talked a few times and last week I managed to pluck up the courage to actually have a bit of a conversation with her but that's it! There is more than one problem involved. I really like her but 1. I don't know if she's gay or not and 2. I don't know how old she is. It's really hard to tell, I kind of feel like atleast if I knew how old she was then I'd know if it was okay to like her.

How do I go about finding out instead of only getting as far as a quick hello and almost an hour of us staring at eachother once a week? I'd really like to get to know her.
I know somehow I have to ask but how do I do that without just coming out with it? How would you phrase it or go about it?

No stupid answers please, this is a serious question, I really don't know what to do.

Nowadays everything seems to mostly be about business, and what you can do for someone, and people are judgemental, and try to achieve titles and just focus on that aspect of life. It seems like the humanity and "being a nice person" is totally alien and lost. At least in America.

It all seems to be about money, intellectualism.

It's kind of a bummer.

Is everyone out there shady, or are there normal people left who see how screwed up everything is?

The things around my life are changing. Faster and faster the shadows seem to cast in new directions, shedding light on all of the things that I've over looked in the past, and covering the things I've come to know well. As I sat and tried to explain the way that I felt this day, I failed. Only to find myself speaking from the outside to a world who couldn't possibly know what it's like within. The birth of a new love and the loss of an old combined with the change of doors from the place that I once called home. At times I envy those who have predetermined lives with the comfort in knowing what tomorrow will bring but as I close my eyes I can hear my heart pounding pulling my chest in and out as I breathe. I've sacrificed my predetermined life to live in the presents of lady luck herself, but also in the presents of judgement and sorrow who are no strangers to even my oldest memories. I live in this ever changing world because the world in which I change is predetermined

i was wondering if some buddhists out there could share with me what your day to day activities are relating to buddhism.what would i have to do to practice buddhism everyday and become a buddhist.ive read books, practice meditation and have a good grasp on some concepts but there are no places for me to go nearby.i would like to go to a temple or just a meeting place for buddhist but none r close to me.i basically want to know how to become a buddhist myself and how i should incorporate the ideas into my daily life through some of your examples.so how would a guy wanting to become involved in this religion actually become an involved buddhist that is true to the teachings and be sure that im doing the right things in practice or otherwise to become enlightened?i gotta tell ya,i look at this life and everything people tell me to work for and what is important just doesnt do it for me.only enlightenment seems to be the way to happiness to me.

Mary gave birth to her creator, Jesus was , as St Thomas said in the bible,"My Lord and My God!" Elizabeth said, "How is it that the mother of my Lord should come to me?" It is a statement of faith. Jesus is God. Just because you cannot understand how the trinity is possible with your human intellect, dont make it untrue, there is no person who can fully understand God, if we could he wouldnt be God. We make the intellectual assent of faith by claiming that Mary was themother of God. This is biblical. Mary giving birth to a nature is not truth. mothers give birth to persons, this mother gave birth to God, who was called Jesus, or Emmanuel meaning God is with us.

Someday, men wearing $2,000 suits, and $100 silk ties, and $500 dollar shoes will be prancing around on a stage screaming at the top of their lungs that ..... "these words are the inerrant words of God"?

In short: How would you feel if your were writing a Novel and thought that someday a future civilization would declare your words as "the word of God"?

In short, the guy was forced into bankruptcy by Scientologists for pointing out that they break laws by making unlawful medical claims, and in response, he began picketing outside of a Scientologist facility...

This protesting of course then got him arrested and thrown in jail, which included a considerable amount of solitary confinement. He is finally out of jail, but now seems to be rather depressed and nihlistic, having lost all faith in the legal system as well as humanity... Any ideas you would like to convey to him to (hopefully) cheer him up?

Seek to understand before you attempt to judge. Opinions formed in haste can often be the source of great trouble and needless hostility.
Take the time to think and to plan before you act. Though it is essential that you do take action, it is best when you've carefully thought it through.
Replenish what you need before it runs completely out. You'll avoid wasted time and effort as well as much anxiety and expense.
Think about your true purpose before making any commitments. You're much more effective and fulfilled when following a path that resonates with who you sincerely are.
Look carefully and thoughtfully at where you're going long before you actually get there. Not only will you be more fully prepared once you arrive, you'll avoid any wasted effort spent getting to where you don't even want to go.
Many things in life can be dramatically more enjoyable and productive when you have the forethought to do certain other things first. Think, consider, plan and prepare before you do, and then you'll be able to truly delight in the doing.

If there's anything that irks me in Yahoo besides slander against Catholicism, its people who tell other people they are going to hell. That really torques me.

Only God decides who is going to hell. I hear people saying Muslims are going to hell, Catholics too, the pope is burning in hell, etc. etc.
I'm a tradiotional Catholic, and Bible believing to the core, but I can NEVER bluntly tell someone they are going to hell, and neither can you.

SCENARIO: A Muslim child lives in a desert village, never hears about Christ, and dies at age 9. He was always a good boy. Is he going to hell? OF COURSE NOT! If you think he is then you are insane. If he goes to heaven, will it be because of the sacrifice of Christ? Yes, I believe it will be. But, God can apply the salvation Christ won for us to whomever He chooses.

Comments anyone? Does anyone feel like I do?
