I understand that the Navy is no longer teaching Morse code at its Information Tech school (that rating combined the Radioman and Data Processing Ratings).
I learned Morse code in the Boy Scouts. We used it in school utilizing our pencils. The POINT was the DOT, the ERASER was the DASH. Watching our friends, we could TEXT MESSAGE before there were cell phones! ha ha

No need for Morse Code.

My dad was a ham radio ooperator and knew morse code and taught me when I was about 9, dots and dashes!!
He would try to cue me on long trips and send me secret messages when my mom was sitting there, not knowing a thing and we were talking about getting ice cream!

They are excellant. I worked for Western union years before computers or anything else. My years of music study helped me breeze right into morse code. I love it.
