I made my own out of wood and used an inverted shotglass as a pointer. Will the shotglass work? what can i do to get a real spirit to come? should i put my hand on the glass? how does the pointer move? should i be moving it at all? sorry for all the questions im new to this.

Every religion talks about their God and not for a moment talk about humans... This itself is a fallacy of religions that it is not focussed on humans but one somebody or something nobody knows if they or it exists.

What do you think will be the time when all humans become educated, aware and start living for themselves (humans)?

I want to make a pirate costume for holloween and want to know how to make a pegleg and hook like a real pirate might have had. I need as much detail as I can get so they are right.
Some info on modern peglegs would be good too incase the old kind are to hard to make or use.
Has anyoue out there ever done this? If you have I would like to hear about how they worked.

I am from Brazil, I came to Miami in 1994 and learned english. Why now, at work and everywhere I go I have to speak spanish? I am really tired of it!!! If you want to live in a country, the least you can do is learn the country's language, not doing so is a profound disrespect to the country and a clear message that you are not capable of learning. It hurts businesses that hire people who do not speak english (for a reason I don't know), and it limits the spanish only speaking person that will never get anywhere without english. I have called a hotel once to book a room, and the person who answered the phone not only answered with a "alo" in spanish when she should have said the name of the hotel, but when I spoke in english she said in spanish "I don't speak english" and hung up the phone!!! This is insane. Let's not forget the restaurants that get the orders wrong etc.. We who have learned english as a 2nd language should not have to not speak it because others are lazy to learn!!!

In Spanish, how do you know which letters to put the accents above? I have a Spanish quiz tomorrow and our teacher says the accents have to be placed correctly but I don't know where to put them!

I've had my nose pierced (right nostril) for several months now. I've had many comments about it, some positive, many of them negative. I just let the negatives slide and don't dwell on them...well, until yesterday...I went to church with my best friend, I really enjoyed the service until the preacher began making comments about people who wear baggy pants and have body piercings. He said people who do such things are 'angry in their hearts' and 'believe the world owes them something' therefore they get piercings as a way of 'expressing themselves'. I just had to shake my head at this. That does not describe me at all. I had my nose pierced for the same reason I got my ears pierced, I think nose piercings are cute. Simple as that. His comments made me a bit angry as well as hurt my feelings. I don't believe having a piercing makes me any less of a Christian. So my question is...where in the bible, if anywhere does it state that piercings are a sin?

and he takes phone calls, yawns frequently, and does other annoying things like crinkling paper in his pocket, walks around and clicks his heels on the floor, lets people interrupt our lesson with questions and hardly ever says good-bye at the end of the lesson - he is an excellent teacher, but he acts like he is 5 instead of 55 and he is very inconsiderate while I'm playing - one time he jumped up in the middle of my playing a piece and said he had to go.....I don't know if I should say something to him about it and if so, how do I approach it in a tactful manner or since he has helped me alot, should I just overlook it? I just want a little more consideration for $30 a week......

My stepfather died before I was able to see him... I knew he was dying but he didn't die of the canger that plagued him, he died suddenly of a coronary embolism. I was so angry with myself for not getting there in time. I learned to tell people I love them (and sooner instead of later), and to have no regrets in life. I would rather take risks than later regret not having tried.

What is the whole point of confession? I see nothing in the old or new testament that states we have to confess our sins to a man in some boxed in closet. Really, I thought we were suppose to pray to God. Also, I dont really think those priests give good advises anywayz, so I dont see the whole point of confession.

Have any of you read some of the stuff they believe? Anybody read the part where kids who sassed their parents were taken out and stoned? Just as an example. Do they actually discuss this stuff, or do they just pass over it? How do they square the Bible with reality?

And don't tell me to go to church and find out for myself, no thanks!
