Religion was concieved and fostered time and again in superstition and lack of scientific understanding of the physical world and the Universe in general. People have had multiple thousands of years to develop the religions while Science and general learning have lagged. Superstition is the worst, blind faith is right behind it.

humans also have the need to worship, and to gather with others who want to express feelings of gratitude and honor toward their chosen diety figure
so, no, I don't believe religion arises out of feelings of fear or utter dependence
I do believe that humans are superstitious and ritualistic, and both of those lead humans to develop religion as a way to communicate with divinity

no! it is out of guilt.
if you live your life with integrity, you will not need religion.
religion is only for the guilty, the dishonest
look at the Pope, he is the biggest of all anti Christ
if he truly believed in Jesus Christ, he would live like JC and not like a CEO of tax free haven. he would . live like mother Theresa.helping others and not expecting a reward.
People only pray to god when they are in trouble. that in it self is criminal
