Hello, all! I hope that you are all doing well this afternoon. I was wondering if you have ever heard of the Anthropic Principle? For those of you that have not let me give you a definition. The Anthropic principle states that the universe actually appears to have been created specifically for the existence of life on earth. Consider the following examples:
1. If the earth was located slightly farther away from the sun, it would freeze like Mars. If it was only slightly closer it would burn up like Venus.
2. If the earth did not revolve regularly on its axis, half the planet would be in darkness without vegetation, the other half would be an uninhabitable desert.
3. If the earth was only a small percentage smaller, the reduced gravity would be incapable of holding the atmosphere that is essential for breathing.
4. If the atmosphere were not exactly 78% nitrogen and 22% oxygen and other gases, breathing would be impossible.

How do I politely ask people I work with (there are only 2) to wash their hands, especially after coughing or sneezing? I am a cancer survivor, but I have a poor immune system due to the chemo/surgery/radiation. I get sick very easily. I don't want to sound like a hypochondriac, though.

Do you really think anyone takes the racist rants seriously? Getting a rouse out of you is their only objective. I mean isn't it obvious?
Why should you bother defending your race when anyone worth mentioning can tell that their statements are bullshit? People who can't see this arent worth the effort that it takes to presuade them as they are obviosuly weak minded.

I want to buy one but don't know what the best one is. The typical Bible for Protestants is the NIV. That is not the closest translation but very good and widely owned. Just wondering what the Catholic equivalent of the NIV would be. PS No Catholic bashing jokes. Be mature.

These are all related to the same general idea:

-Why would God create serial killers?
-If God doesn't create serial killers by planting a particular pre-destined soul into a mother's womb, or he gives free will and doesn't actively change anything for the sake of not ruining it, then is he even active in our lives?
-Does he make any changes; answer any prayers?
-Wouldn't even the answering of prayers (interacting with our lives) take away from free will?
-If God does answer prayer, and does so according to his will, and does so without taking away from FREE WILL, then why does he WILL so many horrible things to happen in the world?
