Hi,
I would like to convert to Christianity from Judaism.
I feel, there is more freedom in Christianity than any other religion, to be satisfied with life.

First of all, Im not trying to tick anyone with this question so if you are just going to complain to me, dont answer. This is a serious question that Im asking for the purpose of a final paper for a college writing course. I want to know what your honest opinions on what the stories in the Bible mean to you. And if youre not Christian then relates this question to your own Holy book. And if you have an extra moment for me, please tell me what you think the purpose of religion is and how it affects the world we live in now. Thank you so much!

A new, innocuously titled book, Mother Teresa: Come Be My Light (Doubleday), consisting primarily of correspondence between Teresa and her confessors and superiors over a period of 66 years, provides the spiritual counterpoint to a life known mostly through its works. The letters, many of them preserved against her wishes (she had requested that they be destroyed but was overruled by her church), reveal that for the last nearly half-century of her life she felt no presence of God whatsoever — or, as the book's compiler and editor, the Rev. Brian Kolodiejchuk, writes, "neither in her heart or in the eucharist."

** I think I will be reading this book and wanted to know your thoughts on it....**

Until a few days ago, I always thought there were several times as many LDS people on here as there were active LDS people. Then, I ran across several people that I wasn't even aware of who happened to be "former mormons." I understand that some are more vocal than others, but I wanted to get an accurate picture.

So, if you are an ex-mormon, would you please state so? You may include a few sentences about why you left if you'd like, but it's not necessary. This is just for counting purposes.

Thank you!

Know that i'm here, i waan crush some Canadian stereotypes.
-the first and most common one, the word, "eh". ! meet some american people and they think that's all we say. but the fact is i know of no one who says that all the time. I hears americans say it just as much.

-Also, Canada is not always cold, it's cold in winter and some of fall. This ones quite popular, I've heard it all the time that "Canada's cold up there"

-We do not live in Igloos. That one must be a joke! I couldn't believe people would think that. but, i know not all americans are dumb though.
we live in houses, apartments, condos, and mansions

-We have huge downtown urban areas.
i sometimes see Canada depicted on TV as this, country wilderness place with those mounty police.
in conclusion, what do you really think of Canada?

I had 2 and it's hard to choose between them. This is about the dog. As a teen, we had this black Lab mix whose name was Troubles because he looked like he had the trouble of the world on his shoulders. My sister had a Amazon parrot. The parrot would yell "Help! Help! Help" and the dog would run to see what the bird was yelling about, then the bird would shut up. The bird got the dog to do this all darn day. Also, my dad had a, um, gas problem. He'd pass the foulest gas and blame it on the dog. The dog would look at his own behind, hang his head, and get up and move away. He was also raised with a cat, and they'd play chase. As they grew, the cat figured out she could run under the couch. The dog would follow and get stuck. Every single time. The cat could get the dog to play this dumb game every single day.

I was sitting here at my desk typing away when I felt this cold wet small thing land on my back. When I stood up to see what it was I found a small Tree Frog sitting on my chair.

I live in a split level bungalow, my desk is on the main floor. The only way the frog could have gotten to where it did is if it jumped from the second level.

It seems unlikely it could get in without being noticed by nine dogs and four cats. And if they had brought it in, I doubt it would have been in perfect health (which it was).

(o.O)

How would you read this event?

For example: some people think that any Christian who sins is a hypocrite. Others think that a Christian who drinks alcohol is. Or a pastor who gets divorced.

Where do you consider the line to be?

My opinion: we are all sinners; becoming a Christian does not change that. It does, however, change perspective. I believe that God's judgment has not come yet because he is patient and allowing everyone the chance to repent. Accepting that Jesus died for your sins does not make you stop sinning, nor does it give you permission to willingly do what you know is wrong thinking "oh, it's ok, I'm covered." It means we must do the best we can, knowing we will occasionally fail, knowing we will be forgiven if we ask and strive to do better. It also means we have good news to share with our fellow man that they too can be forgiven if they just ask, but that no one expects them to be perfect.

I'm willing to bet that what most people see as judgment will show up a lot in the answers.
