There seems to be an omen for everything these days, so I was wondering, is there an omen for being visited by deer? We have them around all the time since we live in the woods but they're mostly doe...which is probably better since I wouldn't want a couple of bucks having an antler smackdown a few feet from my house...to get back on track, does getting visited by deer often signify anything? Just curious.

The very qualities that can produce real love, security, and happiness (such as good character and other noble moral traits) are the qualities which oppose lust.
The lovesick female spirit can flourish only on excitement emanating from the worshipful clinging of a failing, egotistical man. It is threatened by real strength and virtue. While she needs this virtue in a man, her sick, egotistical spirit is afraid of being dominated by it
Isn't that true ladies ?

For tackling one of the greatest threats to our society 'freedom of thought'. I mean where do these jerks get of thinking they can just go around believing whatever they want.

I was watching the History channel last night and the were talking about Pluto and showing all the protestors. Is that a worthy cause to be fighting over? I mean you have soldiers dieing in Iraq, children being molested by pedofiles, people throwing their lifes away to drugs, alcohol, and prostitution, homeless, jobless, crime, orphan homes full of kids that need parents, people dieing with aids, children dieing with cancer, and so on....the world is full of horrible things....why do we really care if Pluto is a planet or not?

DId it ever occur to anyone that when the threats against various countries including my own, the USA, were made, that the crazy extremists did not target religions? Did it ever occur to anyone that we, the Muslims who do live in peace and live honest lives, are also their target and they'd kill anyone of us given the chance? Or do you only concentrate on those of your religion and blame all of us for what that idiot is pulling?

where someone is obviously having a tough time, with snide remarks? I think prayer has the same effect as crossing your fingers, but if it gives these people peace or hope, why do some of us feel it necessary to mock them? I'm a smartass too, but there's a difference between being cruel and joking.

I met my aunt for the first time this summer. She invited me out to her town, paid for my hotel and everything. I really enjoyed her company. What is a polite way to ask her if I can come visit her for my winter break?

Recently a straight friend of mine asked a question about gay people. A simple question: "why are all the gay guys I meet so effeminate?" And it has a really simple answer: "they're not; you just didn't realize the other ones were gay, because they're not effeminate." But he'd never heard that answer before -- even though he's known gay people for years, it's just not something he felt comfortable asking, because it seemed like it might be an insulting question.

It seems like the answer to that question should be really simple to find, but it isn't. There's no resource for well-meaning but clue-free straight people to ask the questions that they might be embarassed to ask, for fear of seeming clueless,
bigoted, or just nosey.

So I'm setting out to change that, and I need your help. What are the questions? Think hard, dig deep. What are the questions you've always wanted to know about gay people, but were afraid to ask? (If you're LGBT: what are the questions you always get?)

If religious what is your opinion and how does it relate to religion?

If atheist/agnostic what is your opinion and how does it relate to your beliefs or lack there of?

"...... because faith requires by definition the suspension of thought and independent inquiry."

I found this in an answer to another question and was amazed at the lack of understanding concerning faith. Anyone who has ever exercised faith knows that one must have an immense ability to focus and think soberly. In my opinion, a person must constantly engage in *thought and independent inquiry* to exercise faith. What is your opinion?

Also, thoughts on the difference between "faith" and "blind faith" would be appreciated. I look forward to the thoughtful answers. Peace.
