True, the titles of Christmas and Easter were borrowed from the pagan and heathen beliefs, but today they have taken on an entire new meaning, Christmas means the birth of a Savior, and Easter means to us the death and Resurrection of the Savior, Jesus Christ. Stop nitpicking ! We know what we celebrate, regardless of the title name.

I will try and explain this again-
yes, the days that are Christmas and Easter, may have begun as pagan- however- when we celebrate the birth and resurrection of Christ, that is what we are REALLY DOING. Jesus has the final victory over all the earth and things that are evil and pagan- so if you think of it this way, we are celebrating victory when Satan wanted the opposite.Even if we celebrated those days on other days- you would still complain. WHY? Because we are celebrating Christ.

My birthday falls on Tanzanian Independence Day...does that mean that when I celebrate my birthday I'm really celebrating the independence of an African country? When I celebrate Christmas and Easter, I'm celebrating the birth and resurrection of Jesus...the fact that those date coincide with pagan holidays is irrelevant!

A Christian Christmas is an oxymoron. True Christians do NOT celebrate Christmas or Easter.

Hate to break it to you, but most everyone has forgotten the pagan aspects of those dates, they've become His. When we hear the word "Easter", we automatically think "the day Christ rose". When we hear the word "Christmas", we automatically think of the day we celebrate Christ's birthday. The conversion is pretty well done, but if you'd like to think you can NEVER convert them, go for it.

Jesus rose on Easter Sunday. Since this is in the springtime, according to it being after the Jewish passover, it is still spring. Heathen traditions notwithstanding, Easter is Easter.

Of Course, even though Christmas and Easter are pagan festivals that predated Yahshua by many centuries. The Old Testament is full of God's condemnation of these festivals. Christmas has nothing to do with the birth of Christ and Easter Sunday has nothing to do with His ressurection.
The so called "Christians" on this answer need to get themselves a good encyclopedia and a history book.
For more information on how they came to be celebrated as "Christian" days please follow these links (If you really want to learn the truth!):

Yep, there is still a lot of Christians who believe Christmas and Easter originate in Christianity and as you can clearly see above some refuse to believe otherwise.
The hilarious thing is that some of them are really arrogant about it and keep asking why non-Christians celebrate Christmas and act like they have exclusive rights to do that. I just shake my head and laugh at that ignorance. :)

MnM,
Most Christians who understand the BIBLE do not truly believe they are Christian Holidays. There are no Holidays in the BIBLE except to have the Lord's Supper on the First Day of the Week to remember our Savior's Death, Burial, and Resurrection. HIS return is imminent and you are invited to participate. Hope fully by then you will have recognized HIM as your Savior also. Have a wonderful week.
Thanks,
Eds

Dates aren't owned by anybody. Celebrate your heathen feast if you want, I will celebrate Christ born into this world 2000 years ago.
