I do! I pick people who I feel are experts to be my hero's on this Internet. I don' t have a lot of knowlege of religion anymore. I just sometimes have to wonder. Do they think that because I am not that well versed on the subject of religion, that my questions are not worth answering. God thought everybody wa s worth his time, and he gave everybody his attention. If you are a for real Christian, will you please stop insulting me, and think that my little questions might be as important as anybody elses. Remember God loved the unintelligent as well as anybody else. I may not be a scholar, but sometimes I just need your support. I love you because God told me to respect people who have wisdom and knowlege. Therefore love me, as well. This is how I realy feel. I did not hear from one of my contacts when I was really down and out. I love you and I would appreciate if you would take the time to love me back. I admire you guys for your knowledge. I really look for you to support me too.

Something may be trying to take my life when I sleep? I sometimes feal a real negative force around me late at night at around midnight but more like twards 3:00 in the morning. Anyone that can give me some helpful advice on how I can take care of this where I can enjoy my life more and have my mind on better goal orented things in my life I would greatly appreciate it. In Heartlight today it talks about Jesus as the good shepherd and as I was doing some research in history sheep were extremely valuable ...
Sheep were kept for their milk, meat, and especially their wool.
If you think about this 6000 years ago, the sheep were like so many resources to the people ,so they could survive. It made their food and clothing and so much and milk. So when Jesus calls us sheep, please see it in this loving light instead of "we don't all have to follow like sheep" as used in a negative connotation in our modern world. I do think Chrisitans should follow Jesus, but I see here that when He calls us sheep, it means we are VERY VERY VERY VALUABLE TO HIM !!! A new insight to me today, and are you shepherding any young ones in the Lord regardless of their earthly age ???? He needs you as shepherds but remember, shepherds will lay down their lives for their sheep, shepherds are not at all: "it's all about me" just the opposite.

A scientist - say Newton - comes up with an idea - say gravity. He does many experiments and concludes that this force does in fact exist. He observes the facts - things fall, thrown objects fall in a parabolic pattern, etc. He puts all of this together and forms the THEORY of gravity, meaning that this is how he thinks it works, and that, although he can't prove it, nothing we as a species know about the way things work contradicts that theory.

Now lets wait a couple hundred years. Another scientist - say, Einstein - learns some stuff. the stuff he has learned is fact... like things falling. He cannot deny these facts, but they - for once - do NOT fit into Newton's theory. Did Einstein toss out Newton's theory og gravitation? No, he changed it. He took the known facts and made a theory that worked with everything we as a species know about the way things work. This did not negate the theory of gravity - it refined it to make it more true.

Why is that a bad thing?

Has anyone heard this before?? About the inscription written above the head of the Pope’s crown? It has “VICARIUS FELII DEI” written on it, and I read somewhere that it adds up to 666 like this!

I have spoken to people from lots of different faiths, and asked them all the same question,
"How do you know your God is the right one, what do you think will become of you if one of the other major world religions were right all along"?

Surely only one of you can be right, I ask of Christians, what if you're wrong and it's Allah you're going to be facing, or the Jewish people were right and there was no Jesus? And for Muslims, what if the Christians are right, where does that leave you after a lifetime of following the wrong faith?

And the only answer I ever get is, "I know it's the right one because I do". And for me that's not good enough (I'm not religious obviously).

Some religions are exclusive too, and if you're not a member of their gang you're doomed. How can that be right when there are so many different faiths in the world?

Lets just hope it's the Buddhists who've got it right, because Siddhartha is so forgiving he'll let us have another crack at it ;o)

If it is a mortal sin, does one have to confess to a priest before receiving Holy Communion again? What are the serious reasons by which you can miss Sunday Mass so that it is not a mortal sin? If you died suddenly after neglecting Mass for a flimsy reason would you die in mortal sin and thus go to hell?

...when there are so many children that need to be adopted? I mean kids are starving out there, and dying because no one will adopt them. Yet I see a lot of people (especially the religious, that's why I'm asking on this forum) that want to have their own kids instead. There's the whole "passing on the bloodline" thing, and I don't get it. What's the difference with having your own kid?

Personally, I'm adopting. What do you guys think-- is it immoral to purposely get pregnant and have your own child when there are others already on this planet that need homes and love? I won't bash people that have their own kids already, but is there any real reasoning for it?

And please don't try to sell me that myth that you can't love an adopted kid as much because you didn't carry him or her 9 months-- fathers never carry the kid and they love their kid just as much. Similarly, I know that it can be expensive to adopt-- but shouldn't you already have that money if you're planning on a kid?
