We lived in Baton Rouge, Louisiana for years then moved to Naperville, Illinois. Naperville is always voted one of the best places to live in America.
One day I went to the mall and I realized I was no longer constantly watching what was going on around me. Subconsciously I had been watching and aware of what was happening around me for years in Louisiana.

Only when I take the trash out , a couple of mocking birds think they own the tree next to the walkway and go into attack mode when I walk by, can get pretty agressive if I don't have a hat on. Had afew back stabbers around (very few) through the years, I've out lived all of them.

YEAH ALL THE TIME. SOME PEOPLE ARE TRUSTWORTHY BUT WHEN IT COMES DOWN TO PERSONAL DANGER OR THREAT EVEN THE BEST OF FRIEND WILL TURN AGAINST YOU OR STEP ON YOU TO COVER THEIR OWN A**. SO NEVER TRUST BLINDLY. WHERE I WORK FOR EXAMPLE IS STEP ON OR GET STEPPED ON AND THEY ALWAYS BLAME PEOPLE FOR EVERYTHING INSTEAD OF TRYING TO SORT OUT THE PROBLEM AND IT IS LIKE I FEEL THAT INSTEAD OF DOING MY JOB I GO TO WORK TO COVER MY A**. SO I ALWAYS MAKE SURE THAT MY BACK IS COVERED AND DON'T DO, SAY, UNDERTAKE OR ACT IN A WAY TO COMPROMISE ME OR BE LATER USED AGAINST ME AND EVEN IF THEY FIND SOMETHING I MAKE SURE I HAVE THE RIGHT REASON/EXCUSE. SOMETIMES YOU CAN'T EVEN TRUST FAMILY. SO GOOD LUCK WITH AND MY ADVISE IS KEEP DOING IT-I KNOW IT IS TIRING AND SOMETIMES YOU JUST FEEL LIKE F*** THIS S**T I WILL SAY AND DO WHAT I WANT-BUT UNFORTUNATELY IT IS THE MAJORITY OF THE SOCIETY AND PEOPLE THAT MAKE BEHAVE LIKE THEM EVEN IF YOU DON'T LIKE IT.ONE MORE THING IF YOU FEEL SOMEONE WILL WANT TO USE SOMETHING AGAINST YOU OR EVEN IF YOU DON'T ALWAYS MAKE SURE YOU HAVE SOMETHING ON THEM TOO-THIS ONLY GOES FOR WORK RELATIONS AND SCHOOL BECAUSE IF YOU LOOSE EITHER OF THEM YOU WILL SUFFER. HOWEVER IN REAL LIFE IT BETTER NOT TO ANSWER TO EVIL WITH EVIL BECAUSE WHAT GOES AROUND COMES AROUND PLUS YOU DON'T NEED BAD KARMA.

I believe in being aware of your surroundings. A person is less likely to become a victim if they watch what is happening around themselves, and take appropriate action in avoiding a compromising situation.
I also believe a person should watch their back as what they say about others. The mouth is too loose with co-workers or friends. It's best to keep opinions and secrets to yourself.

I learned to watch my back while working at an all male prison. It didn't make me paranoid but it taught me to look out for numero uno. I've always found it hard to trust people, but I trust my family without a doubt!!!!

My personal friends and my family are all trustworthy, and have proven to be so over the years.
Why would I want to keep people close to me that I couldn't trust?
No, I have no need to watch my back. I am who I am, and my family and friends accept that.
