I can see many benefits to this law. One being less mental abuse on children, because there'd be less indoctrination of children. And a smaller amount of the stupid gene would be floating around to catch some unsuspecting intelligent person off guard.

Most of the people have the same religion as their parents'.
If you are among those people, I'd like to know what you think about other people who have another religion than yours (like Islam or Buddhim, or Animism, or any other religion) and these people have that religion just because their parents have that religion.
I'd like to know why your God has given those people a wrong religion and do you want them to convert to your religion?
And do you think that those people think that it is actually YOU and not THEY that have a "wrong" religion and that you should convert to their religion in order to go to Heaven instead of Hell.
How can you tell who is right and who is wrong?

I read in frount of my NT King James translation... The New Testament of our Lord & Savior Jesus Christ translated out of the original Greek & with the former translations diligently compared & revised by his Majesty's special command. Appointed to be read in Churches.

Our Old Testament comes from Israel's Hebrew translation. And the dead sea scrolls of biblical are the same message as the ones we have today.
I have the King James Translation.

I think that the universe is created by a creator. but why people don't search the true religion?why they don't change their view to the world?why media keep disvaluing a religion in front of other.let's choose one religion which is the most reasanobale and the nearest to our hearts
i basicly don't agree with multigod religion because if there had been many gods they whould made a chaos.
and i don't agree with ahteism because there is someone who created the whole universe even time and space and "big bang"
so WHICH IS THE ONE RELGION?

Why is Jesus portrayed as white in almost all pictures of him? I am an atheist but I have studied a lot of Christianity and according to the place where Jesus supposedly lived he would have skin very similar to the color that Arabs have today. Are Christians racist? Are they too ignorant to know the difference between skin colors?

If you are in a religion just because it's the same religion as your parents', I'd like to know if you have ever considered changing your religion to another.

and do you think that your religion is the "right" one (if yes, please explain why) and what do you think will happen to people from other religions and to the atheists and agnostics when they die.

Thank you in advance.

Okay, i'm going to post this in both the mental health section and the religion and spirituality section, since I don't really know which it belongs in.

I've always been obsessed with theology. I started becoming completely taken in by it when I was about 7, and was amazed by the different belief systems and religions of the world. I hopped from church to church and from religion to religion, on the one hand wanting to 'settle down' into the 'true religion' and on the other hand just wanting to learn and see as much as possible.

I've just turned 18, and it's starting to seem like a burden. The problem isn't just 'finding the right religion' (although, undoubtedly, that's a part of it) but rather an unceasing power it has over my life - even my dreams are religious. My whole life it's been an almost schizophrenic thought-pattern, and I never seem to be able to escape thinking about it.

It's not necessarily a bad thing, it's just who I am, and i've learned a lot, but I can't

It can't be the christian god because the god that Moses spoke to up on the mountain was a singular deity, not a three part deity. Also, I have yet to find an Eastern religion that worships the gods of western religions, and vice versa. That doesn't mean that there aren't any out there, but can anyone give me the name of the god that EVERYONE has heard of? Please try to remember that EVERYONE is not limited to just the people that go to your place of worship. Thanks everyone.

p.s. I ask this in response to an answer to one of my earlier questions, and I'd like to see how rampant this line of thinking is.

I believe He existed and still does, I need NO Proof because he lives in my Heart..you would have to experience it to understand it..faith..but here is something very interesting for those who say He was a Myth:

Historical Jesus: A Recent Movement to Reinterpret the New Testament Record
The search for the “Historical Jesus” is a rather recent undertaking of so-called scholars and realists, who look to dissect the Biblical record and paint a real picture of the man, Jesus. For about the last 100 years, including most recently, the Jesus Seminar, intellectual debate has made its way into the mainstream media based on the supposed goal of “separating historical fact from mythology.” The problem is that the entire “Historical Jesus” movement is a product of the 20th Century philosophy of naturalism, in that all debate begins with a shared, yet concealed, presupposition – that anything outside the realm of natural explanation can never be backed by historical evidence.
