Why is the word of God the only book being attacked by non-believers?

I don't know of any secular books being hammered on.

Because non believers deny the Word of God. They deny Jesus Christ, the Son of the Living God. They deny Jesus shed His blood on a cross for remission of our sins. They deny Jesus raised from the dead for our justification.

And they choose to enter the wide gate & path that leads to destruction. Hopefully to find out they are on the wrong path before it is too late. Many choose the wide path. Jesus shed His blood for the remission of sins of many. So, they need to repent to God & confess Jesus Christ their Lord & Savior & believe in their heart, Jesus raised from the dead & they will be saved, (be born spiritually, inheriting the Kingdom of God). And go through the straight & narrow gate & path that leads to life everlasting.

It is due to the actions of extreem right wing Fundies.

When people tell you that you are going to burn in hell and use a book to prove it people tend to lash back.

Overall if you look at Christian persecution in the West there is none. Also look at the groups as a whole some of the more moderate or loving churches such as the Catholic, Episcopalian, methodist, etc.

They dont get half the flak that Baptists get because baptists tend to be more full of hate.

I truly think it is because they have to attack it as nothing can disprove it! The truths, the prophecies and so forth....there is no denying that the "Word of GOD" is divinely inspired and written by those willing to let God use them.

The Bible is still the number 1 best seller and has been for years! When you read the Words...they test you, move you or, open your eyes! People do not want that kind of power over them so....disclaim it and the power goes away!

So, when I see people trashing scriptures....I really see a person who is seeking but, cannot submit as their own will is stronger than the will to connect with thier creator!

For the record, I'll oppose any book as disgusting as the bible if people start letting it run their lives.

Take the secret for example. An absolutely disgusting product of new-age sillyness that people are following like sheep.

It is not the Bible itself under attack. It is the doctrinal interpretations that are attacked. Most religious doctrine is Dark Ages mentality. Saying that a book is not 100% true when it is internally inconsistent is not an attack. It's a fact.
