Why do people say that bible translations are erroneous (changed many times)?

I read in frount of my NT King James translation... The New Testament of our Lord & Savior Jesus Christ translated out of the original Greek & with the former translations diligently compared & revised by his Majesty's special command. Appointed to be read in Churches.

Our Old Testament comes from Israel's Hebrew translation. And the dead sea scrolls of biblical are the same message as the ones we have today.
I have the King James Translation.

There are many reasons why people claim that the Scriptures are erroneous or inaccurate; the primary one, I think, is so they can use that as an excuse not to believe and not to study them. However, except for the intentional corruption and perversion of the NWT used by the Jehovah's Witnesses, virtually every translation and even paraphrase, like Ken Taylor's TLB, John Bertram Phillips', "The New Testament in Modern English" and "Letters to Young Churches", has been subjected to close scrutinity by Biblical scholars, translators of the ancient languages of Hebrew, Aramaic and ancient Greek, as well as by linguistic research scholars and very carefully studied for errors. In fact, when the ancient Jewish scribes, apostles, monks, etc. used to hand copy manuscripts, if only one error was made in transcription, the scroll or page of manuscript would be discarded and the transcription would start over.

My wife and I have several different translations of the Bible, including KJV, RSV, NEB, TEV, New KJB, NIV (including on cassette tape); also the NT in eight translations, which also includes the Jerusalem, NASB, and J. B. Phillips' NTME; Greek/KJV/NIV interlinear NT; and a German and English interlinear NT - upon studying these various versions,I see no significant differences. In addition, we have a NWT, plus the Book of Mormon and Doctrine & Convenants/Pearl of Great Price, just for comparison.

There is a "KJV Only" movement which declares that "Literal translations, especially the King James Version, are God's word, and all dynamic translations are evil;" however, this has been debunked by many Biblical scholars, most notably James White in "The King James Only Controversy."

Because they WISH to believe that.

Most translations agree with each other and the oldest manuscripts agree with them. The fact that one translation takes a word to mean one thing while another has that same word meaning different is usually purely by location and language.

As an example, in Greek there are four words for "love". English has only one word. How do you show the difference? All translations have errors, even the KJV. Usually it is not out of malice. In the KJV, turn to 1Corinthians 10:25. What is a "shambles"? If you lived in 17th century England, you would know exactly what it was. In the New World Translation published in the 1960s, it reads "meat market".

I have the KJV too, as well as NWT and several others.

OK here goes. The original language was not Greek, The Hebrew version is Not the earliest version the Greek is The languages are unknown and not spoken anymore and there is no original version. As I said the Greek Septuagint is the earliest written Hebrew bible in existence. The dead sea scrolls are only 1/8th translated so your assumption that they are the same is incorrect. The parts that have been translated contain books that are not included in the KJV bible.
So your assertions are false.

The KJV is the best english translation.
The Greek,Aramaic and Hebrew interlinears help to compare the original languages with english.
The NIV leaves verses out and is badly translated.
Many non-believers on YA make that claim.I doubt some ever opened a bible.

Translations are dependant on the knowledge of the original language. If the people had perfect knowledge of ancient Hewbrew, Aramaic, and Greek, yes the translations would be perfect. That's not the case however. Look up the word "compass" and see if, in some cases, a better word couldn't have been used.

It almost impossible to translate the ancient Hebrew, Aramaic, and Greek to modern day English and make it fit in a regular sized (easy to sell) Bible.

There are too many meanings for the ancient words (i.e. Love has 3, life has 3, word has 3). Even the name of God has too many translations and meanings for the average reader to understand.

Spiritually speaking, the Original Bible is free from errors. Man's twisted intellectual wisdom without the heart interprets the words of GOD erroneously. But with their hearts, even the deep things of GOD will be revealed to them by THE HOLY SPIRIT. On one hand, as the BIBLE is the WORD OF GOD thus, has anyman become a counselor or an adviser of THE LORD GOD because he knows the mind of GOD and also has that man already reached the very roots of the unfathomable treasury of the wisdom of THE LORD GOD. The original bible was put together over 400 years, it was the original Catholic Bible put together by the early church leaders based on the church that Jesus founded.

It was preserved for 1200 years when Martin Luther a anti-semite (he wanted to kill all jews) broke away from the church and then took the parts of the bible he didnt like out.

The result is a few different translations and of course a bible that you can interpret any way you like hence there is 38,000 protestant denominations all thinking different things.
