Many people with high IQs fail to do simple task that the every day person can do with ease. Some lack social skills and others lack common sense. So are IQs really accurate at measuring someones intelligence?

Numbers 15, verses 32 through 36, where a man is put to death for gathering sticks on the sabbath.

Numbers 31, verses 1 through 54, where Moses gets angry that his army has left some of the Midianites alive and he orders every single male to die along with every woman who is not a virgin. They keep all the virgin women for themselves.

Or how about the verse in Leviticus that says homosexuals should be put to death?

Exodus 32, verses 27 through 28, where God orders Moses to kill 3,000 people for worshipping a different God.

I know Christians say that the New Testament did away with the old laws, but this implies that it was once okay to do this stuff. Do you agree that killing homosexuals USED to be okay?

Do you agree that all the things that happened WERE justified back in the time they happened, but not now?

If so, how do you justify this chronological double standard?

Who wants to be my cuddle buddy?

I decided that I need a nap and I am in dire need of a cuddle buddy. The requirements are: male, doesnt mind sleeping on their back for 3 hours, doesnt mind me mumbling in my sleep.

I have always been able to forgive easily, but right now, I am so angry that I could scream!! I need some some suggestions or scripture reference and encouragement on how to REALLY let go and forgive (my mom). I REALLY want to do it. I go to sleep thinking about her and wake up thinking about her. HOW DO I REALLY let go of deep rooted hurt and pain? I KNOW that no one is perfect. I just dont understand why this one thing is so hard for me to do!! I need to be free from this!! Please Help!

Most people I've known who fit that description are usually trying to avoid any need to feel compassion.

How many times have you heard "people have it worse than you"?

Well, how bad to I have to get before I get the help they're getting? Do I take a number? Wait in line? Is starvation worse than cancer? Leukemia worse than having your family wiped out by a tornado? Is there a government office that ranks these things so people can say "there are people worse off than you?"

People have all sorts of reasons for showing deep down inside they're heartless b@stards who don't care about anyone and are looking for excuses to hide the fact.

What say you?

I think I have an idea that may appeal to many on the R&S forum: we atheists should pool our resources and colonize Mars – and let the religionists have Earth. I’m NOT being funny – there are a number of serious proposals based on sound science for colonizing and “terraforming” our nearest planetary neighbor to make it habitable for human life – plus we can always adapt ourselves to a less-than perfectly terrestrial environment through the use of "genemods". Yes, it will be very expensive and take many years, but consider that it took a while for colonists from across the pond to settle the Americas. The technology is within our grasp - we just have to make it happen. I see this as a “win-win” for everyone. Any comments?
