If you could meet ONE person from the Bible not including Jesus, who would you pick and why?

I would choose Noah just because I think the story of the ark is very interesting.

The Vatican is no longer vested in the fish market, so I wasn't sure if they relaxed that contra-biblical rule or not.

Thanks!

Does anyone know of a website that puts the Aeneid into plain english line by line? I have the 'translated' version but it is still a little hard for me to understand. I also have a few summaries of Book VI but I am more looking for a line by line today's english version of Book VI? Thanks for your help!

Need a same day translation. Prefer to do this in Rabat, but can also consider Casablanca or Tangier. Thank you.

I went to college and earned a Masters to be a Librarian. Although I do well in this area, I feel dead inside as if I'm not doing what would truly fill my heart & spirit as my vocation versus just using up another day of my life.

I would especially like input from anyone who has "been there" and re-discovered that which brings joy and life in doing it everyday and their path in discovering it.

In contrast to my earlier question, one user said that Jesus died for our sins. Then what is the point of having the bible and its rules if we dont have to follow them?

There are some very big contradictions i am picking up - one part of the bible contradicting another - and many users contradicting each other

Galatian 6:7(amplified)

Do not be deceived and deluded and mislead: God will not allow Himself to be sneered at (scorned, disdained, or mocked by mere pretensions or professions, or by His precepts being set aside). For whatever a man sows, that and that only is what he will reap

I am dating a Pagan and I asked about it and he said he didn't want to talk about it. I suspect he doesn't know much about it himself. I googled it and everything that came up was very very wordy and referred a lot to the olden days. So in these modern times, is it ceremonial just on Sundays, or does it affect the daily routine? Do they eat certain things and have certain rituals?

I recommend you read the website posted as it flows smoother. These below are excerpt from this website. From this I confirmed to myself that Jesus statements that he is God are also confirmed in the old testament. And that his mission was to die but he will return just as his statement are recorded in the new testament. This meshes very well the old testament with the new.
Any feed back on this is appreciated as I am interested in all your comments.

So during my first visit with the nurse at the OB's office (I am 4 months pregnant) I was asked a series of questions, one being "Religious affiliation?" I replied "none." She then asked "So you don't go to church? What church do you go to?" I replied "none." She looked puzzled as if she didn't know what to write down on the paper. I stated "You can write down atheist if you would like." With a fake smile she wrote it down and continued the questions. I then noticed her gold cross necklace so it was apparent that she was religious.
I found this to be very innapropriate. Is it just my hormones that made me irked? I don't care that she asked me about my relgious affiliation, but I did care that she continued with it by asking about church. What do you all think?

So after studying the Bible and Christianity a bit, I am still confused as to who Satan is. How does he create evil etc? How is he "trying to ruin" me? I don't get it. Am I just supposed to have faith and believe everything the Bible says?

Today's Scripture

"No one can be established through wickedness, but a righteous root cannot be moved" (Proverbs 12:3, NET).

Today's Word from Joel and Victoria

Do you ever feel tossed around by the storms of life? Have you ever seen a tree in a hurricane? The winds and the rain blow the leaves from the branches, and sometimes the branches are torn off, or the tree is blown over. But the tree's roots are protected from the weather by being firmly established in the ground. The same is true in our lives. If our thinking is not in line with the Word of God, we become vulnerable during the difficult times. But when our thoughts are in line with God's thoughts, He plants a righteous root within us. We become firmly established. Our thinking becomes clear so we can be strong and overcome the storms of life. God wants you to be solid. He wants you to be steady. He wants you to have an established life and character. He wants your roots to grow deep in His Word. He wants you to be righteous in Him. Ask the Lord today to show any areas of your thought life that might need to be firmly planted in God's Word. As you develop your relationship with the Lord you will grow deep spiritual roots and stand victoriously against the storms of life.

A Prayer for Today

Heavenly Father, thank you for your plan for my life today. Help me to grow deep roots in you. Cause my thoughts to be your thoughts so that I will be strong and established. Thank you for your favor and blessing in my life today. In Jesus' Name, amen.
